1968 Pearson Ariel 26 for sale, designed by the venerable Carl Alberg.
Small but mighty! This boat is living proof that small boats have all the fun!
She has brought me from anchoring behind the Statue of Liberty in NY Harbor to running with wild horses on Cumberland Island in Georgia. From riding cold fronts down the Chesapeake Bay to catching the sea breeze in the Florida Keys.
Sloop rig, 3.9 foot draft. Lengthens her water line substantially when heeled making for a spritely ride! Quick and nimble, but stable under sail! This boat has proven itself time and again. Ive sailed her from Lake Champlain to the Florida Keys and back up to the Chesapeake Bay. She has thousands of miles under her keel exploring the big, bad sounds, rivers, and bays of the East Coast. I did a few offshore ocean passages on her as well. She has proved safe and strong in 25-35 knots on bays and sounds. She sails well in light and heavy winds. The Swede (Alberg) knew how to draw em! I have cruised to amazing islands and water ways with this boat. We were bound for the Bahamas but I ran out of money so came back north to work.
The boat has under gone a major refit while under my ownership.
Keep the dream alive! Capable of bay, sound, river, lake cruising! Make her yours! The boat is currently located on the York River, a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. Asking $2,500. Can deliver boat if needed. Call Emily.
