Description: |
I am selling my Cape Dory Typhoon Weekender, Brigitte (Bri-gee-tuh). Hull #100! She is a wonderful little boat that has taken us all over Casco Bay. Easy to rig, easy to store in your yard or garage.
Recently completed work includes: - Toe rails replaced (2017) - Plywood knees/bulkheads and chainplates replaced (2018) - New Sta-Set halyards (2019) - New three-strand mainsheet (2018) - Removable compression post installed (2019) - Most deck hardware re-bedded in butyl, including new backing plates and core sealed with epoxy
Probably the biggest outstanding issue is that the non-skid, particularly on the port side of the foredeck, is crazing. I have gathered that Cape Dory during certain eras was known for applying gel coat too thickly, and because it is brittle this made it prone to cracking. Last season I made a temporary repair that included removing some of the material and patching with interdeck. It is generally a cosmetic issue. I have been given a lot of thought as to what it would take to fix so happy to discuss further.
She is currently on a mooring off the East End beach in Portland, which you would be welcome to use for the remainder of the season.
Call, text or e-mail Tom with questions or to arrange to see the boat. Asking $3500 but will, of course, consider reasonable offers! |
Equipment: |
Boat comes with the following; - Genoa, working jib and main in serviceable condition. - Cockpit and interior cushions in very good condition. - Four jack stands in good condition. Could stand to have the plywood pads replaced but they will be fine for another season. - 4 hp Johnson 2-stroke outboard that runs well. Carburetor professionally serviced in 2019. |
