We have been owners of this MacGregor sailboat since 2005 and have many great memories in many places. We have raced, fished, snorkeled and enjoyed all sorts of marine life exploring the many parts of Florida in this sailboat. It is the perfect boat to either spend the day in nearby coastal areas or spend several nights sleeping on it while venturing through the Ten Thousand Islands, the Everglades, across to the Florida Keys as well as Biscayne Bay and the Dry Tortugas.
Trailer-ability, Portability and Flexibility: It is the perfect boat to drive anywhere and launch from any ramp. Before launching, you can put the boat together, including rigging in less 30 minutes. It glides on the trailer very easily either by hand or motoring on. It is water ballasted which allows you to easily pull out a plug emptying the tank of seawater lightening your load for your drive home. Dismantling it, including taking down the mast, is quick and easy.
Shape & Size: This sailboat has a unique V shaped hull enabling it to cut through the waves. You can anchor in very shallow water allowing you to check out and walk on beachesit floats in 12 inches of water with the dagger board up. It keeps afloat with solid foam flotation and it is unsinkable and uncapsizable. It has a roomy interior big enough for a family of four to sleeptwo in the bow and two in the aft.
Costs: There is no need for expensive storage in the waterjust store it in your backyard! Insurance is also cheap and there is no ongoing costs. This boat can meet all your budgetary needs.
