| Description: |
An exceptional cruising sailboat, "KODO" was bought in Turkey, in late 1999 and was our only home for 5 years. She was cruised,live-aboard, through the "MED" (including through the canals of France to Paris and back),to Madeira,Azores, the Canary Islands and across to Barbados in 2004.She has been winter cruised throughout the Caribbean from 2004 to 2009 via the eastern islands,Puerto Rico,Spanish,British and US Virgin Islands,Venezuela, the ABC's, Columbia,Panama,Honduras,Guatemala & Belize. She is now safely tucked away, along with over 700 other boats,up the Rio Dulce, Guatemala.A proven performer in light and heavy winds and seas! This version of the Bavaria was the top-of-the-line in 1996 (before Bavaria started to compete in the "charter" market) with unsurpassed construction techniques using technologies approved for aircraft and ice-breaking boats to ensure that the Germanischer Lloyd requirements were exceeded. The factory application of acid resin, together with a powder-bonded glass mat, has successfully produced a completely water tight hull with no osmosis. The "Owner Version" interior is beautifully finished in sculptured mahogany throughout producing a rich, live-aboard atmosphere with a superior galley, lounge two state rooms and head. The twenty-one opening ports, six below the deck level, provide consistently good ventilation. All halyard and sheet lines are led to the cockpit ensuring that all THREE reefs can be incorporated in the mainsail and all sails can be controlled without leaving the cockpit making "KODO" readily sailed single handed. A Volvo Penta, MD2030B diesel engine completes the propulsion system. The comprhensive instrumentation is based on the Autohelm "Sea Talk" system with GPS,radar, autopilot, depth sounder, wind instruments, boat speed, etc. An ICOM VHF transceiver and HF receiver provide communication and reception of weather fax information. Well equipped, well maintained! |
