ORIGINS and HISTORY
Designer MacLear & Harris, New York. Designed by Frank MacLear in 1961, as Design # 106 'Angantyr'.
Plans and rights to build a sister vessel purchased from MacLear & Harris.
Builder Fisher Steel Yachts, Bronte, Ontario
Lofting and Templating: 1975
Keel laid 1976, and vessel launched 1987
Registered 1987-08-07, Toronto, Canada
Maiden Voyage: 2007-09-16 (to date, has only been sailed in Great Lakes' fresh water).

Draught: 5' 8" centreboards up; 7' 10" centreboards down.
Keel: full, with two centreboards, one fore and one aft.
Height: of boat from bottom of horizontal keel shoe to top of dog house at highest point 14' 7".
HULL
Displacement: 80,000 lbs
Hull, deck, framing, superstructure, two inner bulwark plates, cockpit structure and rudder, all of mild steel, stick welded with 7018 high strength welding rod.
Hull Coating Exterior: rust acid etched, Rustlok primed and Awlgrip finished.
Hull Coating Interior: rust acid etched, Rustloc coated, and over coated with cork filled mastic. Entire interior between bulkheads insulated with fibreglass to circa 1" to 2" in thickness.
Rudder: balanced, hollow rudder
Ballast: lead, 10,000lbs., poured into keel trough, fore of engine room..
DECK
Deck 1/8" mild steel, with 1/4" plate at foot of mast, and 3/16" plate at the stern cleats. Deck rust acid etched, Rustlok primed, and covered with 7/8" teak; bedded in mastic, and bolted to welded steel studs with no drill holes in deck. Enclosed bulwark with no frames showing on deck; rail cap teak. Stanchions heavy duty SS304 Schedule 80 pipe, and pulpits fore and aft by Klacko Marine. Pulpits mounted on teak rail cap. Stanchions mounted in sockets welded into bulwark steel capping, and protruding through the teak rail cap.

Cutter Rig with Double Headsail

Equipment: INTERIOR
Interior Joinery: circa 85% complete.
Interior Finish: epoxy and Endura polyurethane; gloss white paint and varnish.
Head Room: under deckhouse circa 6' 6"; under deck circa 6' 3".
Companionway: double door access; no sliding hatch. Under threat of being pooped,
provision made for setting safety cross-hatch boards behind the double doors.
Navigation Area: to starboard of the deck house, and directly accessible inside the
companionway entrance.
Salon: open concept interior, with large U-shaped sofa to starboard, and large L-shaped
sofa to port, which provides seating at a long captain's dining table. Salon extremely well lighted by a large skylight.
Landing: large landing providing access to salon, galley, staterooms, toilets and shower. Well lighted open area.
Staterooms: 3 Staterooms with berths for 6. Abaft the engine room and deck house are two staterooms; to starboard the stateroom has a double berths, and to port the stateroom has upper and lower berths. To starboard and directly afore the U-shaped sofa is another stateroom with upper and lower berths.
Galley: positioned abaft the forward bulkhead, with sinks to port, and refrigeration to starboard
Forecastle: forward of the fore bulkhead, with a steel work bench to starboard, and cupboard space to port and starboard. Exit ladder through the booby hatch.
Lazarette: abaft the aft bulkhead, with sufficient storage for one set of 3 to 4 sails.
