| Description: |
"Tropical Desire" has been been with the current owner for 20 yrs. Originally built as a racing sloop,the current owner has added many features to make this boat more comfortable for cruising. Edson wheel steering, autohelm 4000, teak cockpit grates, dodger and cockpit awning ,harken traveler system moved from cockpit to cabintop. The galley was rebuilt with a large sink, superinsulated ice box and 2 burner propane oven/stove. The head was rebuilt to allow for more floor space and a teak floorgrate and manual pump out sump and 15 gallon holding tank were added. The original V berth was a sail locker but was rebuilt to sleep 2 and provide a large storage area below. All of the interior cushions were recovered with sunbrella fabric and show little if no wear. The hull was barrier coated and shows no sign of blistering. The topsides were imroned in 2003. The Westerbeake 40hp engine has a new heat exchanger and has never had a problem. The fuel tank was replaced with an aluminum one. The propeller shaft, srut, cutlass bearing and prop were replaced. The rudder has a 2/3 skeg and the bronze gudgeon was recast and replaced. This boat is a pleasure to sail. |
