| Description: |
Hinckley 38, launched Sept. 1969. I am the original owner.
The Hinckley 38 was designed as a racer/cruiser. The boat is Fiberglas construction, with Balsa core construction above the water line. There is a working trim-tab on the aft edge of the keel, for additional lift to windward.
Hull recently Awl-gripped. The boat is full race equipped, with two spinnakers (3/4 and 1.5 oz.), four jibs and a new Harken furling jib. The 40 hp Westerbeke diesel engine was completely rebuilt and has less than 5 hours running time.
The boat sleeps six in two cabins. The galley has an alcohol Hiller three burner stove and oven. The boat has two 60 gallon fresh water tanks and a 40 gallon Monel diesel fuel tank. The electronics are GPS (Garmin), Speed and Depth and VHF radio. |
