Description: |
Invictus is a 1983 True North Cutter 34, heavy displacement, full keel, blue water yacht designed by Stan Huntingford, built by windship marine in Vancouver, Canada. For sale at $85,000 U.S. firm For the last several years Invictus was prepared for serious cruising. Improvements and work were done on the boat to bring her to a state ready for very reliable, long term, serious world cruising, and that state was achieved in 2019. This is a rare boat for sale in which years and lots of money were spent in preparing her, and yet is being sold at this state of readiness. Approximately $185,000 were spent in upgrades, improvements, reinforcements, new parts and rebuilds over the last three years turning an already well maintained boat, to a very solid, safe and reliable boat. Much of this work was done by, or in consultation with, other marine and offshore professionals (Brion Toss, Hal Thiesen, B J fiberglass, Petersons welding and fabrication). Invictus was professionally checked from stem to stern and mast to keel. Every part of the boat was checked, and work was done to Invictus to make her completely ready for any conditions anywhere. Previous to this work, Invictus had already been sailed multiple times to Hawaii, Mexico, and Alaska. The boat has always been set up and sailed as a bluewater voyager. Simple, thoughtful, clean, reliable systems were installed, and some complicated failure prone systems were removed. The equipment and systems are mostly manual, sturdy, and repairable, with low electricity demands. Invictus was setup to be a simple, reliable boat for comfortable long term cruising and offshore passage making. The owner of this boat and installer of, commissioner for, all improvements for the last several years is a professional expedition sailing leader and captain of fifteen years, an American Sailing Association advanced sailing instructor, and water rescue professional. Too much information to fit here, please see the facebook site for Invictus for more info and photos called "sailinginvictus". |
