37' Tayana 37
1976 Daytona Beach Florida 37 Tayana 37
NEW PRICE! PRICE DROP $4,000. This is a well maintained and cared for boat capable of blue water adventures. The owner three owners back made many improvements with the intention of a World circumnavigation, this never happened, and the boat was sold to the owner two owners back who was an airline pilot and lived on the boat with his wife. He did many improvements to the rigging, tanks, etc etc. The present owner is a retired farmer and professional pilot who has continued to continuously upgrade the boat, investing a considerable amount of money, the result is that she is a well equipped, comfortable, capable long distance blue water sailboat comfortable in low or high latitudes. The present owner has only sailed the boat lightly and is looking for a bigger boat to take the family along! The boat is being offered at a very realistic price, well below the amount the owner has invested in her. More photos: yachtworld.com/boats/1976/tayana-37-3742471

34' Tartan 34c
1976 West Coast of Florida Florida 34 Tartan 34c
Description and story: Seven Sundays was purchased in 2005 after being on the hard for many years due to a nasty divorce. My wife and I purchased her and had it trucked to our town in Syracuse NY. I than proceeded on a 7 year 100% total reiteration as you can see from some of the photos provided. We have been lucky enough and had the opportunity of sailing this beautiful off shore boat to Florida (East and West coast), Bahamas (2 times) and Cuba. All of the reconstruction was done with "live a board" in mind and to be self sustaining. Seven Sundays was on Lake Ontario from new until we took her south in 2013. She had a complicate new set of sails purchased by the previous owners and only used for 2 years (roughly 1997 & 1998). They are in good serviceable condition as we have only used them 4 months a year since launching. Link for more photos: photos.app.goo.gl/z2YBUz8Cb492cELi9

31' Bayfield Bayfield 29
1988 Kingston Ontario Canada Outside United States 31 Bayfield Bayfield 29
The Bayfield 29 has a full keel, cutter rig (Jib and Staysail), a shallow draft, and a built-in bowsprit (complete with stylized wooden trail boards on either side of its bow). It is an out-and-out cruising boat and regarded as capable of offshore passages. A unique feature of the Bayfield 29 is that it has no V-berth, which, on some boats, can be cramped and difficult to get in and out of. Instead, the Bayfield 29 has a huge and comfortable head where the V-berth is normally found. It does, however, have two quarter berths, as well as two berths in main cabin, one of which converts into a double. The Bayfield 29s cabin is wide open, but built-in wooden panels which slide up from the galley counter and the chart table (a nicely executed idea) can be used to divide the living space into two areas. This Bayfield 29 has unique tall-mast option, with mast and all rigging for Bayfield 32′ as purchased at the Toronto Boat Show by the first owner. Currently on her third owner, she is a well maintained late model Bayfield with a clean Yanmar diesel. Regarded by some as having the perfect interior layout for a pocket cruiser. This is a very solidly built, sea friendly boat. With auto-pilot installed single-handed easily. Ideal for a couple or young family.

41' Gulfstar 41
1974 Kemah Texas 41 Gulfstar 41
$12,500 as she sits Good bones, very solid boat Worthy of a full renovation with much of the hardest work already complete. I recently started a business and my daughter started playing softball, so I no longer have the time to devote to this vessel. I can't stand to see a nice boat neglected, by me or anyone else; someone who will treat her right deserves to take her over. Regretfully selling "Good Times". She is a 41' sloop rigged, twin cabin, twin head, center cockpit drafting under 5'. This is a true bluewater cruiser, yet sits shallow enough for almost any anchorage and easily handled short-handed. Many circumnavigations have been completed in sister ships. Good Times is coastguard registered. She is currently under renovation and ready for a new interior (as you can see in the photos). The previous owner professionally rewired the 120v and 12v systems. New through hulls have been installed. Structural work for the interior is complete Good Times is a couple of weekends of work away from being ready to sail locally, more work is required before offshore adventures are advisable. Her 50hp Perkins diesel ran well until a fuel fitting failed a few months ago. I have the new part and intend to install it when I can get away for an afternoon. She is a very dry boat for the age and condition. She sat for three months with a failed bilge pump and had very minimal water accumulate in the bilge. There are various bits and pieces that came with her when purchased, they will go along to her new home. This includes a roller furling for the head sail. I have seen Gulfstar 41s in Bristol condition fetch over $100,000 in the past few years. Finding a seaworthy example under $60,000 is increasingly difficult. The 41s are solid workhorses that were generally overbuilt and eager to be put through their paces. I have seen far worse examples sell for thousands more than I am asking.

32' Downeaster 32
1978 Aransas Pass Texas 32 Downeaster 32
Introduced in 1975 the Downeaster 32 is a traditionally styled long range cruiser ideal for couples. Through the years the boat has proven to be rugged, easy to sail, and has won many a praise from owners. They have sailed far and wide and at least three have circumnavigated. Even in the 1970s when Downeast Yachts introduced their boats they evoked nostalgia and tradition. The Downeaster 32 keeps up the family traits with a long keel with a keel-hung rudder, clipper bow and a bowsprit. The hull has moulded-in planking lines and a slight tumblehome in the aft quarters ending in a wineglass-shaped transom. Above deck, she's driven by cutter rig slung from a four foot bowsprit - it's a rig that has proven to be reliable.Ex-factory, the Downeaster 32 exuded quality throughout and was offered with an large array of options above and belowdecks such that each boat tended to have a uniquely individual personality. The hull laminate was built extremely thick, bordering on overbuilt by modern standards and the rigging has proven strong. Internal space is generous for a 32 foot boat and tall sailors will appreciate her six and a half feet of headroom. With the right configuration she can theoretically sleep six with three berths in the salon, a quarter-berth on the starboard aft, and v-berths forward. Because she is often sailed by couples or single handed, many owners have modified their boats appropriately. The original layout has two doors closing off the v-berth and adjacent head from the main saloon. There's a u-shaped galley complete with gimballed stove, refrigerator (non working) and icebox, and a sink. Storage includes two well-ventilated hanging lockers and numerous cubbies.

36' Lavranos L36
1980 Green Cove Springs Florida 36 Lavranos L36
Trade Winds is a Lavranos 36 built In Cape Town South Africa by the Golnix Yard. It was a small semi custom production run of approximately 50 boats. Designed by Angelo Lavranos a well respected Naval Architect who worked for Sparkman and Stevens and later Bruce Farr. The boat was designed and built for offshore racing and cruising and won its class in several Cape Town to Uruguay races with the return journey via the Southern ocean. The hull and deck are solid glass with a fiberglass over foam reinforcing grid making it extremely strong and impervious to rot. The hull to deck joint is an inward flange thru-bolted and completely glassed on the inside. All bulkheads are glassed to the hull and deck as are all furnishings. The interior was completed by a professional shipwright who worker on several other L36s. The boat is currently rigged as a sloop but was originally rigged as a cutter and could be converted back. I purchased the boat from the original owner 2 years ago. He ran a boat yard in Solomons Maryland that his brother owned. He sailed the boat the the US in 1984. I cruised the Chesapeake for a few months before sailing to Florida and living aboard in St. Augustine while working as a Charter Captain. I am a licensed 100 ton captain. 29' Custom Ben Bow Cutter
1981 Georgetown Bahamas Outside United States 29 Custom Ben Bow Cutter
We love this boat. We have sailed and lived aboard for extended periods over 6 years, logging over 5,000nm and exploring the east coast of the US as well as the Bahamas. Covid cut our Caribbean sailing short and covid life has seen us starting a small business and it's time to let Sirocco inspire someone else. This boat gives you confidence. She is steadfast and reliable in all conditions to keep you safe and comfortable. Whether you are wanting to take your sailing to the next level offshore, or enjoy comfortable weekends gunkholing in the bay, this boat will take you there and bring you back. She is ready to leave, self sufficient/off-grid and in sail-away condition. Similar to a Bristol Channel Cutter! Currently located in Georgetown, Bahamas, but will be brought to Florida in March 2021. Please see website for full write up and photos: kanddconcepts.wixsite.com/sirocco

40' Beneteau FIRST 40
2011 Toronto Ontario Canada Outside United States 40 Beneteau FIRST 40
Designed by Bruce Farr, the Beneteau First 40 does an admirable job of blending a truly fast hull with a very stylish interior. The interior has been designed by Nauta Design and is finished in an Alpi blond oak which certainly adds a touch a class and comfort throughout the vessel. The First 40 is built somewhat conservatively with a solid hull and cored deck and accessible areas on deck covered in "picot" type non-slip surface. The galley is immediately to port when you come below. It iswell thought out, with stainless steel sink facing forward, a good sized icebox/fridge and a two-burner stove with oven and grill. The wraparound navigation station is opposite the galley and is the best feature of the interior. It includes a chart table and a desk, perfect for a computer, and plenty of room for radios and repeaters. The saloon includes settees port and starboard with storage above. The First 40 continues the tradition of the First 40.7 and is a thoroughbred amongst racer/cruisers. The interior layout is modern and comfortable and yet the First 40 has had highly impressive racing results, showing a winning combination of style and performance. The forward cabin offers a V-berth, a dressing seatand a small hanging locker. The head is to starboard and is surprisingly spacious. There are two equal double cabins aft and the saloon has one single berth to port and one to starboard. A center-line table opens up to allow seating for most of the crew. The Beneteau First 40 is a boat that we can all aspire to and is designed for performance. This boat will appeal on many levels.

We are selling fractional ownership in the boat as I can't sail it full time and want to offer it to other experienced sailors to help offset the costs. I have been in a fractional ownership before. I will be managing the partnership and will try to do most of the major maintenance myself to save us money. Your share will be 2 weeks time allotted aboard the boat for the price ($15k Low Season or 19k high season) and you will be a partner owner. For the first 6 owners that buy in, you get 4 weeks your first year, and then 2 every year after per share. Your last day will be allotted for cleaning and repairs at the dock. Maintenance company and cleaner will come your last day to clean and fix anything. Yearly there will be a cost breakdown of expenses for all owners with a quarterly maintenance payment due by each owner. We will try to keep expenses low. All major expenses will be by vote and everyone will be given a chance to give opinions and advice. All the details will be laid out clearly in the contract. For now the boat will be located in Panama City, Panama with easy access to the amazing Pearl Islands in the gulf of Panama best cruising in the south pacific! However partners can vote the boat elsewhere, in fact I am hoping we vote to move the boat every year or 2 somewhere new. I am not adverse to moving, I have probably already been there. Next year where do you want to go? San Blas Islands Galapagos? The BVI? Just Buy and vote. Ask me for more details!

25' Cape Dory 25'
1975 Yarmouthport Massachusetts 25 Cape Dory 25'
This was a wonderful boat that I sailed in Cape Cod Bay. But there is a 10 foot tide and I had to row 1 mile to get to it and motor another mile to open water, so I bought a sailboat with a centerboard and moor it near my home. Doodles has been on stilts for 20 years. So far as I know it is in good working condition. The outside needs cleaning. The cabin is filled with water and needs to be pumped out and there is mud in the cockpit. The fiberglass has been pushed in a little on one side as shown and that needs to be repaired. The spars are in good condition. The mainsail is in good condition as shown. I have the roller furling jib but it needs a new sail. The 15 HP deep shaft sailboat motor is essentially new but was not winterized. THE SAILBOAT IS FREE. All you need to do is pump it out and trailer it away. The motor was $3,500 new and has only been used a few hours. Will accept the BEST OFFER FOR THE MOTOR.

Bandit was custom designed and built with performance, simplicity and accommodations in mind. The result is a unique Racer/Cruiser with a PHRF Rating of 69 and proven winner. Also included is a custom trailer which provides for convenient land storage or getting to your next away regatta. Almost everything about this boat was engineered and built for speed. Composite construction with epoxy, foam and glass was performed using vacuum bagging techniques. This high strength to weight ratio construction with integrated hull structural elements such as framing, bulkheads, and stringers minimized any unnecessary weight. The forward bunks are removable for racing. A lifting engine eliminates underwater drag due to machinery appendages. The lifting keel and rudder also provide a means to keep the foils clean while in port as well as navigating harbors with thin water. Bandit has been in storage on her trailer since Fall 2017, reasonable offers will be considered.

32' Westsail Westsail 32

Pixie is a great boat with a lot of upgrades and still in need of some work to get her back in the water. Classic story of me wanting to get back on the water and life catching up and keeping me away and now its time to let someone else realize their dream. I pulled her out of the water 5 years ago to add a roller furling and have an new headsail made, and fix up some leaking cap rail. That turned into pulling all of the teak cap rail and fiberglassing the whole thing, adding a stainless steal bowsprit and boomkin, a flush lazerette hatch, removed one fuel tank, replaced the original kerosene stove/oven with a new propane force 10 one and made a new dodger. Prior to setting sail the first time I also repainted the entire interior, rebuilt the vbirth to accommodate a taller sleeper, myself, and installed a new fridge unit among many other things. This boat is still a project, but for someone with the right skill set, she will be one of the nicest westsails on the ocean. The biggest issue as I see it, is the engine is no longer starting. I've had a mechanic take a look and recommended replacing it. There are many other updates that I'm not remembering right now, but please feel free to contact me with any interest and hopefully we can get Pixie back on the water asap! I've got lots of photos of her current state so please email for more photos

Nice J24. The boat is 1985 which is after they updated it. Boats earlier than that had some moisture issues .this is a solid dry boat. Keel and rudder were faired and brought to class specifications. The boat was 64Kg lighter than class minimums so it used to have correcter weights in it. New aluminum traveler bar, mainsheet, jib sheets, halyards, and vang from APS. It comes with a 3.3 HP Mercury outboard. Sails: 2007 Quantum Main & Genoa, still crispy. 2007 North spinnaker, red & gray. 2006 North blade. 2004 North Main & Genoa, still crispy. 1996 North Main, Genoa & Spinnaker. The main I was racing with is still crinkly. The other main is perfect for practicing, just not as stiff. The 1996 main and genoa in a loft a couple years ago because I was never using them. I'll make sure they are with the boat. The trailer is road worthy, it is in decent shape. I did some work and put new lights. I redid the pads the boat rests on. I have used it to go back and forth many miles. It is a 4 way flat connector. The trailer has surge brakes, but needs a new master cylinder. I towed it with my F150 with no issues.

30' Ta Shing Baba 30
1986 Point Judith Rhode Island 30 Ta Shing Baba 30
December update! Just ran engine today and changed oil, she fired right up and purred like a kitten as always! Hull recently surveyed and found rock solid by SAMS surveyor. new Lifeline AGM starting battery, and tested radar and windlass today working perfectly. new duramax cutlass bearing, new dripless PSS stuffingbox, shaft and coupling tuned, prop balanced, zinks replaced, new exhaust hoses, new stainless steel exhaust elbow and exhaust pipe, many other hoses replaced. New fuel tank installed. Glass decks, new windlass, yanmar engine, chart plotter, radar, full batten mainsail... 1986 Baba 30 built at the famous Ta Shing boatyard. This boat is among the last few (of the 170 total) Baba 30s made making her the newest baba 30 on the market today and in my opinion the nicest and best rigged. This go anywhere sailboat has spent all her days in the new england area used very lighty. I have owned and improved her over the past 7 years. I am only selling because my family has doubled in size and now i want the Baba 40. Last summer we took her on our longest voyage; from Rhode Island, out around Nantucket and up to Maine. We could not have been any happier with her sailing characteristic and comfort of ride. She heaves too like a dream with double reefed main and a backed staysail. Without towing that inflatable dinghy behind her we were really suprised how well she pointed into the wind and how fast she she actually sails for 30 boat with 25 LWL and nearly 13,000lb displacement. When all three originally sized sails are out in around 15kts, lock the wheel, take a shower, make a sandwich, and come back to the helm, she is sailing straight as an arrow. Though sails have been upgraded, the original dimensions have not been altered so as to not interfere with the designed balance of the rig. We purchased this boat with intent of long distance cruising in mind. Now that she is finally rigged and ready to go (two kids latter) I need a bigger Baba!

The Gulf Pilothouse is a unique sailboat with dual helms. One outside in the aft cockpit and another in the salon which is very nice when the weather is not. We bought the bought about three years ago and made several upgrades including a new Garmin chart plotter,a new alternator, a headsail furler and updated sails. Many different repairs were performed by a local boatyard and we have receipts. Sadly, heath issues prevented us from using the boat for over two years and we have decided to sell her. She runs fine and can be sailed away. Could use a bit of TLC inside but she is a very functional boat. Please email or call with any questions.

49' Spronk Custom 49
1979 Georgetown Maryland 49 Spronk Custom 49
This custom Spronk catamaran was built by the legendary designer Peter Spronk in 1979, and then completely rebuilt in 2013 with every surface and every nut and bolt, and piece of equipment added new. Additional autopilot and salon curved plexiglass added in 2018. Spronks are some of the most beautiful ever built and also some of the fastest. In 2018 the boat was sailed open ocean all the way, from the BVI's to Marsh Harbour in the Abaco, 930 NM in 96 hours, with sails reefed and big seas the whole way. The slender hulls and low weight tells you why its so fast. The epoxy and Okume ply sandwich makes the boat super strong and stiff. Dockside there are three AC systems and electric heads in all three cabin suites. As of October 2020 the boat has been epoxy spray painted matching the original royal blue of the photos. It looks great. The boat is super clean and ready to go. A 2018 survey values the boat at over $800000 and is available for inspection. email me and I'll send current pictures with survey

Regatta. Won the Herreshoff Medal for overall performance award Construction Details The hull is laminated from unidirectional and biaxial 'S-Glass' skins, vacuum bagged over H-80 Divinycell crosslinked foam and AL-600 Baltek cores above the waterline, and H-80 and Airex foam below. There are high concentrations of unidirectional 'S-glass (in lieu of carbon fiber, along the hull backbone and bilge stringers. An intergrated gridwork of deep keel floors, partial bulkheads, longitudinals, and ring frames supports rig and keel loads, controls headstay tension, and prevents shell distortion. The deck is a similar laminate of 'S-Glass' skins over the same H-80 Divinicell and AL-600 cores used in the hull. Unidirectional 'S-Glass' Reinforces deck stringers, which take the heavy compression loads from the headstay and backstay, and which are continuous from stem to stern. All laminates are vaccum bagged and post cured, and epoxy resins are used throughout. Both T-42's Boast a ballast/displacement ratio of over 60%, and nearly half the ballast weight is carried inside the hull. Most of this inside ballast is carefully shaped to fit the hull and very heavily glassed in place, forming a 'lead core' beam supporting the mast step, and massive lead and glass 'backing plates' distributing the keel bolt and grounding loads over a large area of hull shell. This ballasting approach results not only in a remarkably robust structure, but also in a substantial speed advantage upwind, due to an unusually 'soft' motion in a seaway resulting from the low pitch moment of inertia. Also contributing to the high stability and low pitch moment are a very sophisticated four spreader Hallspar rigs.

40' Expedion Sailing Vessel Gerry Breekveldt Ketch 40
2002 Linton Bay Panama Outside United States 40 Expedion Sailing Vessel Gerry Breekveldt Ketch 40
We are selling our beloved 40 foot steel ketch Corcovado. This is not an ordinary sail boat built for chartering and sailing only in good weather condition. This is a boat as safe as a boat can be, built for those wanting to explore the remote extremities of our planet or that generally like a safe boat. If that is what you like, this could be the boat for you! Corcovado is a 40 foot steel center cockpit ketch designed by Gerry Breekveldt and built in 2002 in the south Island of New Zealand. It comfortably sleeps 6 persons, two in the front cabin, two in the saloon and two in the spacious aft cabin. The center cockpit is protected by a steel doghouse (the entire cockpit can be made completely weather proof with an existing canvas enclosure) and extra deep for safety and comfort while sailing. Eight sails are included and the powerful 100 hp turbo diesel Nanni (from 2011) engine with 900 l diesel capacity has never failed us. Two extra cabins and a huge aft locker are available for storage purposes, truly plenty of room for all the gear needed to be in remote places. The boat is full of top quality equipment, spare parts and tools (please refer to the attachment for main features). Corcovado is very well maintained. No rust issues, just the normal superficial issues. We have put a lot of love and affection in our beautiful boat so it is also very comfortable to live in. Corcovados journey began 2002 in New Zealand and after some sailing in the tropical south pacific it sailed through the southern ocean to Chile and then onwards around the south tip of South America towards northern western Africa. From there it sailed back to Brazil and then onwards to the Atlantic side of Panama, where she is now lying. We think we are offering Corcovado at a very reasonable price considering the amount and quality of the equipment she has. We are in the process of painting the entire deck and hauling her out for a new antifouling coating (jan. 2021)

30' Islander 30 MK II
1985 Hingham Massachusetts 30 Islander 30 MK II
*Marina fees paid through the end of April- if you are local, I will refer you to a very well-priced, protected, summer mooring location. A classy mid 80s vessel from a renowned California company. She has been maintained and well-cared for throughout the years and it shows-a very clean boat throughout. She is set up for cruising, and single handed sailing, with all lines led aft to the cockpit. The Hood mainsail and Hood 150 genoa, on a Harken furler, are in great shape, as is the standing and running rigging. The traveler and mainsheet will be changed before the sale. She is sturdily built, and has no soft spots anywhere. Newer dodger, bimini and cockpit cushions. A few of the original interior cushions show some weathering. The woodwork is flawless throughout. The handrails could use a coat of varnish- not an ideal winter touch-up, so you'll have to do that when it's warm again! The freshwater Yanmar 2GMF runs great and has been winterized, as always, for the season. I will run it for each interested party and show you how quick and easy the winterization process is. 1991 Whidbey Island Washington 51 Wittholz Custom Aluminum Pilot House Cutter
Holy Grail is a fully round bilge professionally built world cruiser, built for the present owners, and designed to sail anywhere in the world. With 50,000 miles under the keel in comfort and safety, she has proven herself an able sailor, often making 160 to 190 miles a day, day after day. Joinery is of Cherry and Pecan hardwoods with some neutral formica. With two independent diesel heating systems, ten watertight air vents and nine cabin hatches, she is warm in high latitudes, and airy in the tropics - a true expedition boat. There are 12 deck prisms for good lighting below. Fitted with one private cabin in addition to settee berths for five, one head with stall shower with separate washer/dryer space, Holy Grail is a wonderful and spacious live aboard for one couple. There is also a workshop with metal work bench, vice and drill press in the forepeak, along with lots of storage for tools, spares and materials. It is large enough to be converted to a sleeping cabin if desired. In September 2020, she was hauled out for routine bottom paint and survey. The survey and Audio Gauge, which is an ultrasound to determine the condition of the the metal, Holy Grail was declared in perfect condition. Please visit sail-our-world.com for more details.

43.4' Elan impression 434
2005 Annapolis Maryland 43.4 Elan impression 434
2005 Elan Impression 434, S/V Leyna. Designed by renown naval architect Rob Humphreys (designer of Oyster Yachts, Southerly Yachts, Vendee Globe entries, the Global Challenge 72 fleet, Americas Cup campaigns.) Elan has won both Cruising Boat of the Year and the European Yacht of the Year. The Impression brings a bright and airy elegant design that is both swift and surefooted offshore, capable of reeling off excellent daily mileage. Leyna is well commissioned for offshore sailing and has a proven history. She sailed from South Africa in the Cape to Rio Race, sailed back to Cape Town, and after a refit, sailed up to the Caribbean. Never chartered, this is a three-owner boat with an engine that was replaced in 2013 and now has 2000 hrs. on it. Four 150-watt solar panels are mounted on a custom stainless steel arch that surrounds the cockpit for both safety and shelter and provides ample hand holds. The 900-AH battery bank powers refrigerator, freezer, Watermaker and autopilot. Under spinnaker, either the symmetrical, or asymmetrical, both in socks, Leyna is a race horse. The attention to detail throughout the design keeps the crew comfortable offshore. Elan uses modern construction methods, infusing the hulls outer multiaxial laminate with vinyl ester resin for osmosis protection, with isophtalis polyester resin on the inner layers. The hull is solid glass below the waterline, while the topsides and deck are PVC-foam cored. Construction is under the permanent technical supervision of Germanishcer Lloyd. Elan is a cut above the current cookie cutter performance cruisers. Our 6-month planned cruise has now extended to 12, and its time to return to California. Leyna was an excellent choice for our family; we bought her in Grenada, cruised the Eastern Caribbean, sailed up through the Bahamas, up the East Coast to Maine before sailing south to Annapolis, MD. The three-cabin layout is spacious and comfortable, the large settee fully surrounds a large table that basks in light from the deck salon windows. Stop dreaming, start sailing.

41' Folkes
Summer Wine was one of the many steel sailboats built by the Folkes boat company in Canada. It is equipped with hydraulic steering and has a 42 diameter stainless steel destroyer wheel. It has a unique steering system that steers both the rudder and up to two outboard motors at the same time. Having steerable outboards makes this boat very maneuverable, even in close quarters like marinas. It is very similar to having a bow thruster. By steering the outboard you can turn this boat around in close to its own boat length. The steering is also very responsive even at extremely slow speeds. Summer Wine is a simple, hard chine, factory built, steel hulled sailboat. It has stainless steel rigging and an aluminum deck stepped mast. The old internal diesel engine was removed and could be replaced with a new electric drive system or you can operate the boat with just the outboard as we have. We really enjoyed our adventures on Summer Wine. But now that we have purchased our larger 60ft steel sailboat, Summer Wine must go to a new owner. It is currently in the boatyard awaiting paint and some additional TLC.  Details »

51' Custom Chappelle Pilothouse Schooner
This vessel, designed and built to classic lines and style, took her original owner, master carpenter Jack Day of Sequim Washington, 7 years to complete. Jack is well known and respected in the wooden boat building industry and started his apprenticeship on wooden boats at the Seattle Wooden Boat School in the late 1930's. He drew inspiration from the likes of Bill Garden. The custom bronze work is from the Port Townsend Foundry where Pete Langley still retains the moulds used. The Sails are by Barney Abrams of Seattle. Blue Jacket was built from plans drawn by Howard Chapelle, a well-known designer of traditional American sailing craft. This was a one-off commission given to Chapelle by the builder Jack Day. Hence Blue Jacket is a one of kind vessel. No others have been built to this design. She is a staysail schooner with the jib and staysail both on furlers. The vessel is sturdily constructed of 1 3/4" red cedar planking fastened to white oak frames with silicone bronze screws. The gaps between the planks are wedge seam spliced instead of being caulked. The framing material is all yellow cedar with teak decks, trim, windows, and cabinetry. "BROKERS COMMENTS" This is one of the most spectacular examples of a wooden sailboat we have seen in a long time both from structural/execution and aesthetic perspectives. This vessel is a unique one-off to a design by Chapelle commissioned by the builder Jack Day. No expense has be spared to execute every stage of construction to the absolute best of standards. This is a vessel that is not only beautiful to look at, but she is well laid out as a superb cruising vessel and performs wonderfully under sail. For the discerning yachtsman who is looking for the wooden sailing vessel that encompasses excellence in construction, execution, design, aesthetics, sailing performance, and livability, then this vessel is a must see. One could say that Blue Jacket is not about money, she is about man and his love affair with the sea and sailing.  Details »

A note on buying and selling safely:
Anytime you buy or sell on the Internet, due to the geographic reach of the ads, be careful of fraud.

It has recently come to our attention that at least one seller has received a scam e-mail offer in which the buyer offered to overpay for the boat and then requests a check for the difference in return - what has come to be known as a classic "Nigeria" scam.

Requests to overpay for the boat and have excess money returned or given to a shipping company are most likely fraudulent -- never do this without consulting with your bank first.

Please always use caution and your best judgment if presented with a deal which doesn't seem logical, and be sure to talk with your bank to be sure all checks and transactions have been completed, cleared, and verified before releasing any property. Be especially careful of any transactions from overseas where such transactions might be reversed after some time due to fraud.

  • Never give your password to anyone. SailboatListings.com will never ask for your password. Any such request is an attempt at phishing.
  • Be careful of buyers or sellers using free email addresses (hotmail, yahoo, etc.)
  • Contact the buyer or seller by (non-cell) phone as well as online to help confirm their identity.
  • If a boat is not where it says it is, this is a strong indication of fraud.
  • After discussing the details, have the boat surveyed and arrange to see the boat before any money changes hands.
