Minnehaha is powered by a Westerbeke 82B 82hp diesel engine with a three-blade bronze propeller. She includes a Panda 7.2kW generator with a sound box, a 2500-watt inverter with a 120-amp charger, a 190-amp alternator, and a 1,200 amp-hour battery bank (new in 2022). Reverse-cycle air conditioning (forward and aft zones) ensures climate comfort, while safety features include a high water alarm, bilge pumps, and a Reverso oil change system.
Electronics and navigation equipment include a Raymarine RL70C chartplotter/radar display, Raymarine ST60 Tri-Data wind, speed, and depth instrument, Raymarine radar, autopilot, and a VHF radio with two rechargeable RAM mics. These provide complete navigational control for extended coastal or offshore cruising.
Deck gear is robust, including a Maxwell electric windlass, a 60 lb. CQR anchor with 300 feet of chain, an FX37 secondary anchor, stern anchor, jack lines, and a freshwater/seawater washdown system. The cockpit is protected by a dodger, bimini, and Eisenglass windshield. Additional features include a cockpit shower, dorade vents, and a 10'2" Walker Bay RIB tender with a 4hp Tohatsu outboard and lifting crane.
Sailing systems consist of in-mast furling, Schaefer roller furlers for headsails, electric halyard winch, and sails by North (main, genoa, staysail) and a Quantum V3 asymmetrical gennaker with snuffer.
Construction is top-tier, with a sandwich-core hull using Baltek Balsa and marine-grade vinylester resins, reinforced in high-stress areas. The hull-to-deck joint is bolted and bonded for strength, and all major bulkheads are glassed before interior finish work.
Altogether, Minnehaha represents a rare, meticulously maintained example of the Gozzard 44, perfect for a discerning sailor seeking comfort, safety, and timeless design in a cruising yacht. |
