****SOLD****
Sails Increase is a head turner. One of less than 15 ever built, she is one of the most rare sailboats youll ever run across. This is a once-in-a-lifebme opportunity to own a very special boat, but not just the boat, an entire Montgomery Package; Boat, Dingy and Trailer! Faithfully maintained by its current owner since 2000. Sailed in Minnesota prior to its current home slip on the Chesapeake Bay, and prior to Minnesota she was sailed in San Diego, CA. It is believed that she was in Arizona prior to San Diego. She has a tremendous amount of space for a vessel of its length, feeling more like a boat in the 25-28 foot range. Spacious cockpit which is perfect for sailing, and with the board up, the entire cockpit is open for entertaining. The salon has two quarter-berths which also serve as the bench seats for the fold down table attached to the bulkhead, and is also convertible to a spacious double-berth with athwartship boards. Standing headroom of about 5'8". The compact galley is to starboard aft of the quarter berth with three-burner propane stove, sink with raw and freshwater foot/hand pump, and 6 cubic foot insulated top loading ice box under the top step. Moving forward to port is the head and forward of that the v-berth. She has copious amounts of storage.
Ideal as a single handler or for a couple, but a group of four for a daysail is more than comfortable. She enjoys heavy wind but with her genoa flying, can move about in a slight breeze. Very trailerable for a 4000# boat, but youll need an adequate truck. Trailer in excellent shape with 2 new spare bres. Mast raising and lowering is quite simple with the included gin-pole system of which the seller will provide training and/or video. Cosmetically, there is some work needed, but none that you would not come to expect from a boat of this age and that has been sailed regularly. |
