55' 55' Tayana Center Cockpit

Chinook is a 1997 Tayana 55 that has been well loved with continuous upgrades, meticulous maintenance, and is fully ready to continue on its next adventure with its new owners aboard. It's current (2nd) owners have owned it over 15 years and have been living aboard every winter to escape the cold of the northern climes with the last 10 or so winters being spent cruising and living in the lovely San Blas Islands.

They purchased it in 2006 in San Diego and took it on their first adventure down the West coast of Mexico and Central America until they reached Panama City and took through the Panama Canal to the Caribbean. From there its traveled up and down the West Indies and back to Panama. Outside of a trip North to Florida to escape the lock down in Panama from Covid and its subsequent return 6 months later, it's been spending winters cruising the San Blas and the summers covered up in dry dock protected from the sun and hurricanes.

Chinook is very well positioned for its next owners to sail in any direction from Panama, whether its a long distance journey to exotic destinations far beyond the horizon or weekend adventures with the family to your favorite anchorages, fully ready to get you where you're going in complete comfort and safety.

She is setup and ready for a family or a couple to sail off on a new adventure on day one of your new boat ownership. Chinook is fully controllable from the comfort of her center-cockpit with her top-of-the-line automated systems and self furling sails. Her engine, generator and transmission have been well maintained.

Chinook is equipped with power equipment to make it easy and comfortable to handle right from the cockpit. There is a power tender lift that makes it possible for nearly anyone to launch or put away the tender with its outboard motor attached. She keeps her crew out of the weather with a fiberglass dodger and stainless steel framed bimini and is able to be fully enclosed with canvas or sunshade. Both the dodger and bimini can support the weight of an adult to make access to the mast and sail easy.
