Description: |
A very sporty fiberglass boat that's insanely fast and fun. It's a single-sail, sailing dinghy with planing hull. This is the first version of boats like the Laser--it was manufactured up to 1980. With only 1 large reefable sail, it's easy for one person to launch and sail. The tall mast comes apart into two pieces which stow inside the boat for trailing. It can hold 2 adults or 1 adult plus 2 children. The hull, sail and hardware are in remarkably clean and good shape considering its age.
15' long, 5'4" beam, 195 pounds, sail area 7.9 m, draft 5" daggerboard up, 2' 7" down. |
Equipment: |
Comes complete with manual, sail, sailbag, battens, daggerboard, trailer, winter cover, mast, rudder, tiller, tiller extension, sail rope, self-bailers, paddle, and covers for stowage areas. Everything works except the rudder attachment point: it's missing the gugeon plate--a metal plate that provides attachment for the rudder (see last photo). I've had lots of fun but at 83 I no longer have the stamina. |
