Ready to kick of this year's sailing season in style?

Midnight Marauder is a custom-built, one-of-a-kind optimist sailboat that might just be what you're looking for! I bought this boat as a barn find in rough condition in the summer of 2023 when I was 15 years old. No idea how old it was, but it sounded like it had been through the hands of several owners before me. I only sailed it twice that year before fully restoring it in the summer of 2024. This included a new aluminum mast, all new rigging, and a partially rebuilt rudder with custom-built gudgeons. The boat was sanded down to the primer layer (it was originally painted like a cow), and repainted in a striking, totally unique, black and red racing color scheme. The sail was in good condition but was also cleaned and painted to match the rest of the boat. By the time restoration was complete, I was only able to sail twice before winter kicked in.

The only reason why I'm selling this boat is because I've finally outgrown it and hope that it can find a new owner who's as enthusiastic and passionate about it as I am. This boat is really great for learning, racing, or just having a blast out on the water. It has seen fresh water use in central Maine (where I originally bought it), Idaho, and finally Montana, where I keep it now. There are a few slight scuffs on the hull from road trips, and the sail is stiffened slightly from the paint but neither of these seem to affect performance. the new mast was also lengthened slightly to accommodate a taller sailor without affecting balance. the collapsible hand-towed trolley is in good condition and is included as part of the package. The hull can also be fit in the bed of most pickup trucks with the tailgate down.

This boat is truly a ONE-OF-A KIND optimist, there is no other like it! Hoist the sail and it's ready for its next adventure!
