This offer is for a special boat with a single owner since 1977, refit for extended cruising based on their many years cruising the Maine Coast with children and later as a couple.

She is the perfect boat for a couple sailing the Maine Coast. 40-feet is big enough for comfortable sailing and occasional overnight guests but small enough to navigate the winding passages, ledges and shoals of Maine and the Maritimes. With the centerboard up her 4.8-foot draft easily reaches the most pristine coves and anchorages or enables anchoring away from the crowd in popular destinations.

In 2004 to take advantage of the conservative and more durable construction the
1973 Pearson 39 hull compared to later production boats, and her proven performance since purchase in 1977, a full custom refit by Seal Cove Boatyard, 1 Harborside, Maine one of the most respected in Maine for the high quality of its craftsmanship, transformed her into a custom yacht with added safety features and equipment for extended cruising. The wisdom of refitting a conservatively built durable hull was confirmed in 2005-2006 cruising the Caribbean, in 2011 in the Bahamas and in recent years while continuing to cruise Maine and the Canadian Maritimes.

Following the custom refit she has been stored inside at Independent Boat Haulers, 126 Harold Dow Highway, Eliot Maine 03903 and annually maintained and selectively upgraded by skilled marine craftsman (eg. new rigging 2015, New Andersen SS main sheet and roller furling winches 2021 and engine fuel injector and hardware overhaul 2024) to keep her as a top choice for cruising the Maine Coast. Except for the two winters in the Caribbean and Bahamas she is in the water June to October and in inside storage November to May. Surveys confirm replacement cost exceeds $320,000.
