Description:
The Bristol 40 was designed by Ted Hood and built by Bristol Yachts in Bristol, Rhode Island. A Cruising World magazine review noted: "With her prominent overhangs, sweet sheer line, low freeboard, undistorted hull shape and narrow beam, this iconic 40-footer set high marks for seaworthiness and style
The current owner is a retired marine engineer who previously completed a single-handed circumnavigation and has equipped this Bristol based on that experience. Preparations for offshore passage to Europe have been mostly completed. A health emergency has changed plans and she is now for sale. This cruisers charmer has also provided years of comfortable living aboard in the greater Ft Lauderdale area. The inventory of equipment enables the next owner to step aboard and enjoy the comforts of home or prepare for passage to your destination of choice. She has a full keel and sloop rig with furling genoa and a removable forestay (with option for hank on foresail of choice). The vessel is Coast Guard documented with Florida registration.
