Sabre 38s are well-regarded ocean crossers, and Sweet Calliope is ready to go island hopping, with a centreboard that allows for anchoring in skinny water.

What makes this particular Sabre unique is its auxiliary propulsion. It is equipped with a
12KW liquid-cooled Thunderstruck electric motor, and three Panasonic 330-watt solar panels on a custom bimini cover. It's an electric boat, with a 280-amp hour lithium ion phosphate battery.

Boat is now on an inexpensive safe mooring in the hurricane hole Luperon, on the North coast of the Dominican Republic, ready for jumping off to the Bahamas or Puerto Rico.

DISPLACEMENT: 15,600 lbs. Conventional, molded fiberglass hull and cored deck with glassed in plywood bulkheads

SAILS: Newer main sail with partial battens, older 135% genoa with a Harken roller furling system.

MAST AND RIGGING: Keel stepped, painted aluminum extrusion and boom, double spreaders, 1Xl9 wire rigging with swages at both ends, open turnbuckles, wire/rope halyards, new in 2021.

STEERING GEAR: Single pedestal wheel with stainless steel cables guided by sheaves and attached to the rudder quadrant, disassembled and maintained in 2022.

WATER TANKAGE: 106 gallons in two plastic tanks located under the port/stbd. salon settee and one under the V berth

WASTE TANKAGE: 30 gallons in one plastic tank under the rear starboard berth. Macerator needs to be replaced.

PUMPS: 12V Rule 1500 gph submersible bilge pump with automatic and manual switches (1) 12V Par freshwater pressure pump (1) 12V Par macerator waste discharge pump (2) Foot pumps (1) Whale manual bilge pump (1)

ELECTRONICS: Older Raymarine ST6002 autopilot. New in 2022 Raymarine Axiom Chartplotter 7 MFD W/NAVIONICS E70634-00-NAG, mounted on binnacle. New in 2022 ICOM VHF radio M506-21 & AIS receiver with antennae.

MOTOR: New in 2022 12-KW liquid-cooled 48v Thunderstruck motor, with fan and pump.

GROUND TACKLE: Fortress FX-23 aluminum anchor. Large Danforth-style anchor and two small anchors. Plenty of chain and rode.*

DINGHY: Tobin Sports 10 foot inflatable dinghy, needs repair or replacement. 6hp Tohatsu four stroke outboard in good running order. Spare gas tank.
