1980 C&C Landfall 38 "Nina" - Extensively Refit and Back in the Water

Nina was relaunched on August 28, 2026, and has been recommissioned. She combines classic C&C sailing character, a warm cruising interior, and more than 12 years of documented owner stewardship.

Her 2026 yard program includes a seven-coat underwater system: 3 coats of barrier primer, 2 coats of SEAJET RX, and 2 coats of SEAJET RX Pro. The boatyard professionally applied PellerClean to the propeller, strut, and shaft. Preparation, localized repairs, and coating work were photographed, including areas exposed when the blocking was moved.

Four new custom-fabricated bronze acrylic salon windows preserve Nina's original profiles while giving her a crisp, refreshed appearance. Other recent work includes a restored rub rail, repaired and reinforced stern davit, localized Awlgrip hull refinishing, and a new Kenwood stereo head unit.

Earlier improvements include a 2020 Yanmar overhaul, major AC/DC rewiring, refrigeration and galley upgrades, insulated headliner, renewed flooring, and interior finishes. Records, photographs, receipts, and wiring diagrams document the work.

Nina is extensively refit, not represented as completely turnkey. Navigation equipment requires installation, repair, or verification, and the electric anchor windlass is currently inoperative. See Equipment for details.

USCG documented. Showings by appointment following a telephone conversation; exact location provided privately. Independent survey and sea trial welcomed under an accepted purchase agreement.

2026 REFIT HIGHLIGHTS

ENGINE AND PROPULSION

Yanmar 3QM30 three-cylinder diesel; overhauled in 2020.

Replaced throttle and shift cables.

ELECTRICAL AND CRUISING SYSTEMS

Major AC/DC electrical refit in 2020 with Blue Sea panels and documented wiring.
Four 6-volt house batteries, dedicated start battery, and separate windlass/bilge battery.
ProMariner charging equipment.
MarineAire 11,000-BTU air conditioning.
Custom Isotherm 12-volt refrigeration.
Dickinson Caribbean two-burner propane stove.
LED lighting and updated pumps/plumbing.

INTERIOR AND DECK

Bamboo cabin sole; updated cushions and upholstery.
Insulated headliner and renewed interior woodwork.
Lewmar Ocean-series hatches.
Updated galley/head fixtures; marine toilet replaced in 2024.
Salon, galley, navigation station, forward cabin, quarter berth, and storage.
Wheel steering with refitted Edson pedestal.

Walker Bay dinghy and Mercury 6 hp four-stroke outboard included.

NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT - CURRENT STATUS

Garmin GPSMAP 742 Plus included and ready to install, with a removable clip-on mount for the helm top bar. Not yet installed or commissioned.
Masthead wind-direction arrow only; no electronic wind-speed or wind-angle instruments.
Original Datamarine/Corinthian II depth and speed instruments remain aboard. Displays need repair or replacement; complete systems have not been verified as operational.
Older Autohelm 4000 wheel-pilot equipment remains aboard. Operation is unverified; an earlier survey noted a broken drive belt. Evaluation and repair are needed before relying on it.

WINDLASS - REPAIR REQUIRED

The installed electric anchor windlass is currently inoperative. Motor and solenoid/control issues remain unresolved. Further diagnosis and repair or component replacement may be required.

DOCUMENTATION AND SALE

Records, receipts, refit photographs, and wiring diagrams are available to serious buyers. The owner welcomes a detailed systems walkthrough and independent inspection. Buyers should verify specifications, equipment condition, and suitability for their intended use. Personal belongings and specifically identified exclusions do not convey.
