Designed for cruising the North Sea by U. van Essen and Dick Zaal, Pelagia was built in Holland in 1974. Her hull and deck are solid fiberglass (no coring) and interior is a warm mahogany. She was repowered in 1998 with a new Volvo Penta D1-30 diesel engine and has received much care and many upgrades by a professional captain/owner since 2012. Pelagia is actively cruising this season and ready for adventure

-Hull and Deck: Solid Fiberglass. Bottom sanded and coated annually.

-Interior: Philippine Mahogany with over 30 cabinets. Pilot berth (single), V-berth: Queen-sized with memory foam, and 2 slide-out salon berths. Drop-down table convertible to second queen-sized bed.

-Engine: Volvo Penta D1-30 Diesel with custom engine beds and new cutlass bearing installed in 2019

-Fuel tank- 30 gal. Removed, cleaned, and inspected in 2021

-Water tanks (2 x 30 gallon tanks)

-Galley and Icebox rebuilt in 2025. Paul Luke Heritage propane Stove

-Electrical system fully updated in 2018

-Batteries (2 House, 1 Engine) replaced 2022

-Exhaust system (Vetus) updated in 2022

-Mast on cantilever for stepping while underway. Masthead Sheaves, halyards, deck light, anchor light, nav light replaced in 2025. Stainless bow cap and forestay backing removed and reinforced in 2025

-Rule Bilge pump (replaced 2022) and secondary bilge pump. Bilges cleaned and painted regularly.

-Head and Shower (replaced/rebuilt 2021)

-Hot Water Heater (installed 2020)

-Dickensen Newport Diesel Cabin Heater (new hoses 2025)

-Sails: Main, Yankee on roller furling, spare Yankee on wire halyard

-Spinnaker Pole

-Cockpit: painted with Awlgrip in 2020. 2 Winches (rebuilt 2022). Wheel steering

-Lifejackets (6), Flares, Docklines, 2x Jerry Cans. Many spares and manuals aboard.
