Jeanneau leads with way in terms of innovation, design and construction. The plumb bow allow the beam of the boat to be brought further forward and with more flotation at the bow improve windward performance and in conjunction with the near full length chine provides not only more room but greater buoyancy when needed.

The hard chine runs almost stem to stern and with beam carried well aft provides one very stable platform with more design stability so as to be able to carry more sail with much greater control. Throw in the much more hydrodynamic twin rudders with vastly less drag and dramatically better tracking and control the feel at the helm is always exact and near perfect with very little weather helm. The hard chine also adds space below.

The designers at Jeanneau have also been busy reducing weight where it is not needed. The swept back broad stance spreaders help to reduce weight and windage aloft.

Advanced production techniques in making the deck squeeze out any unnecessary weight (Up to 30%) while maintaining unmatched high standards of construction.

Also down below, efforts are make to reduce weight that normally accumulates under the side decks and Jeanneau has instead chosen to maximize storage down lower in the boat rather then up higher where it would negatively impact performance and also chosen to take this opportunity to put port lights in the top sides to allow for a much brighter and airy interior.

Only a few of the many innovations that the Sun Odyssey line incorporates in its designs and the new 345 is the latest and most advanced of the line.

Sailing a boat that incorporates these innovations pays off in spades. Stability, positive tracking, vastly reduced drag, more speed, less heeling and vastly more room below.
