39' Allied Mistress MKIII

The 1977 Allied Mistress MKIII is a classic Arthur Edmunds-designed cruising ketch combining rugged fiberglass construction, a sea-kindly hull form, shallow 4'6" draft and the versatility of a masthead ketch rig. Built during an era when cruising yachts were designed with offshore passage making and longevity in mind, the Mistress offers the reassuring feel and substantial construction that have made Allied yachts sought after by traditional cruising sailors.
At approximately 39 feet overall with a generous 12-foot beam and displacement of roughly 20,800 pounds, the Mistress is a true heavy-displacement cruising yacht. Her long keel provides excellent directional stability and protection for the underwater running gear, while her moderate draft makes her equally appealing for coastal cruising and exploring shallower anchorages.
The ketch sail plan divides the sail area into easily managed individual sails and provides numerous combinations for changing wind and sea conditions. The Mistress was designed for comfortable cruising rather than lightweight performance.
