S/V Scrimshaw is a Dominican Republic based 1979 Baba 35.This 1979 Ta Shing Baba 35 combines Robert Perrys renowned bluewater design with an extensive list of cruising upgrades and an unusually well-documented history.
A major refit beginning in 2021 addressed many of the costly systems associated with preparing a classic cruising yacht for offshore use, including replacement standing and running rigging, new chainplates, through-hulls, a dripless shaft seal, bilge pumps, upgraded electrical systems, and a KiwiGrip deck following removal of the original teak. Continued investment through 2025 includes a 40 GPH SeaWater Pro watermaker, a new stainless-steel fuel tank, new refrigeration, 900W of solar, Starlink, Raymarine Axiom 9 navigation, upgraded ground tackle, and new bottom paint.
