Description: |
Canadian Sailcraft earned its reputation through quality construction and thoughtful design, and the CS 36 Merlin carries that heritage proudly. With bulkheads glassed to both hull and deck, a bonded structural grid and vacuum-bagged laminates, the Merlin reflects the attention to construction that has made CS Yachts a respected name among Canadian sailors. Designed by Tony Castro, the Merlin brought a fresh, European-inspired approach to cruising. Generous beam carried aft creates a spacious cockpit and room for a private aft cabin, while the bright saloon and practical galley make extended stays aboard inviting. Comfortable cockpit seating, uncluttered decks and sail controls led aft complement a design praised for its performance in light to moderate air and manageable handling when sailing shorthanded. It is an appealing combination for sailors who want the pleasure of a rewarding sail followed by the comfort of a welcoming retreat at anchor. Sea Lion brings that cruising spirit to life with an appealing selection of sailing equipment and onboard comforts. The current owner's stewardship going on 16 years, with pride of ownership evident throughout. Her North mainsail and 135% genoa are complemented by a storm jib and custom light-air sail with its own Profurl continuous-line furler-an enticing addition for those gentle summer sailing days. Updated Garhauer hardware, four Lewmar self-tailing winches and a new EV-100 wheel autopilot support convenient sail handling. A full cockpit enclosure extends the living space, while two enclosed cabins, Nova Kool refrigeration and a three-burner propane stove with oven make weekends aboard something to look forward to. **From the first sail of spring to a favourite late-season anchorage, Sea Lion offers plenty of reasons to spend more time on the water.** TWO PRIVATE CABINS - FULL COCKPIT ENCLOSURE - NORTH SAILS - CUSTOM LIGHT-AIR FURLING SAIL - EV-100 AUTOPILOT - SWIM PLATFORM |
