Description: |
Antarctic was built by Meta in France for Georges Meffre as a larger version of his previous boat Metapassion with the aim of polar and expedition chartering. Antarctic is a safe and strong high-latitudes cruiser with the capability to carry crew and stores for extended self-sufficient cruising. With multiple collision bulkheads, ample tankage and storage, and the ability to operate in shoal waters, she is suited to work in remote conditions and around ice. Antarctic is fresh from cruising in Fiordland and ready for her next adventure. |
Equipment: |
A shoal draft centreboarder with internal ballast. Cutter rigged. Three spreader very solid rig, all oversized. Full sail wardrobe including mainsail (fully battened), genoa (furling, Profurl), staysail and Gennaker (with ATN snuffer) all in good working order. Storm jib and Trysail both new (late 2012), rescue orange and unused. Sails by Dave Parr of Calibre Sails, Whangarei, New Zealand. All safety and navigation/electronics gear installed. |
