23' Sonar Sonar23

Make an offer. This is an excellent 23ft modified Sonar day sailor that I am refitting. The modification is that this boat has a much larger cabin, an open stern for water runoff, flat and streamlined cockpit area, and a double spreader keel stepped mast, which the other Sonars do not have. It is basically a completely different deck layout and rig. I was told that Bruce Kirby (designer of the Laser & Sonar) designed this Sonar special for his son. It has a great selection of sails and a a racing main and jib that have only been used a handful of times along with the day sailing sails (seen in most pics). It had a new bottom paint job put on it last May, and is able to immediately go out sailing. The interior is only meant for storage and is bare. It could be made where you could camp, but I like to race and keep the weight down. I have painted the interior and the deck just this spring. I finished restoring all the winches, and they work great now. This boat is a good racing boat that has a 180 phrf rating and the boat definitely seems to sail faster than the rating. Also has a trailer, but haven't used it since buying the boat and it needs work. Price is negotiable and will consider a trade for a golf cart, flats boat, fishing boat, or possibly pontoon boat with trailer. Boat draws 4.5ft and is a fixed keel. Has 4hp outboard.
