1978 Morgan out Island Ketch, I bought the boat about two years ago from the original owner, the boat was sitting in a slip for many years, I had plans to sail her around the world. My life plans have changed and I can no longer do that. I did many extensive repairs, I rebuilt the engine, it is a Perkins 4.154, I also replaced the flywheel and the damper plate on the transmission. The engine runs perfect. The generator will run but does not generate power. It has a 16000 BTU AC that works. I installed a new electric head in the front and a new manual head in the aft cabin. I replaced most of the porthole windows and I am currently installing two stainless steel portholes in the back. I Totally replaced the steering system on the boat, new hynautic pump in the binnacle all new hydraulic lines and a new hydraulic cylinder for the rudder, I also had the diesel tank pumped out and cleaned I have not hooked up the diesel lines from the tank to the engine yet. At the moment I'm running the engine on a 6 gallon tank because I did not want to run any bad gas through the new rebuilt engine. nav lights don't work and all the mast lights don't work none of the gauges work on the dash either the only gauges that work are the ones that are needed for the engine like the temperature and the oil pressure. The teak linings on the salon floors are coming off. I replaced all the lights in the boat with LED I also replace batteries with four 6 volt deep cycle batteries hooked together. all sails are in good condition it has a good roller furler and a good Mainsail and a good mizzen Sail, all ropes and sheets need to be changed they are old. Boat definitely needs a lot of work. To get finished up. The biggest issue is the front deck has soft spots where the handrails were. Call me for more information. The boat is sailable and you can start it up and drive it away. Or sail it away! |
