Description: |
Raven is a custom one off 35' S&S designed IOR 3/4 tonner, built in 1977, by Snug Harbour Boat Works, Maine.
This is truly a sailor's boat. The S&S pedigree is felt and seen in the balanced and well proportioned lines. A nicely balanced helm and large rudder make it a joy to sail to windward. The boat was refitted for cruising by current owners, hence the interior is now comfortable for extended voyages and living aboard, in contrast to the original spartan accommodations. A Force 10 Cozy cabin heater makes winter sailing and cruising enjoyable.
The construction is cold molded western red cedar hull and deck, on laminated mahogany/spruce ring frames, all glued with West System epoxy. The keel is white oak, and the ballast, a bulb lead keel by Mars Metals, Ontario. The decks are planked with teak, glued and "caulked" with West System epoxy as well. Construction, and finish is to the highest of standards, both inside and out, and the boat has been diligently and professionally maintained throughout its life. The boat spent most of its life racing on the Great Lakes, but was trucked out to the west coast a few years ago by current owners. It currently sits on the hard at Jack's boat yard, Lund BC, under a custom canvas winter cover. |
