28' S2 Yachts 8.5

For sale is a 28' 1980 S2 Yachts 8.5 sailboat and newly built trailer.
I purchased the boat in 2018 with intention of hauling it out and refitting the entire boat to be a live abord. It had been in the water on Eagle Mountain Lake for 17 years. My kids and I would spend the weekends on it. It is one of only a couple of boats of it's size that you can stand up right in with head room in the cabin.
I had a custom trailer built for it and hauled it out in 2019. I brought it home and had it in my shop ever since and started to work on the refit. I removed most of the interior and found some rot in the bottom of the main bulkhead which supports and transfers the weight of the mast to the keel. The leak was due to leaking chain plates and neglect over the years. I cut out the rot that had migrated to the floor and was ready to start rebuilding the supports and main bulkhead.
I then had a change in my life that drastically altered my future plans with the boat and I no longer have a shop to keep it in or the time to work on it any longer.
It is a very solid boat and I would like to see it go to someone who has the passion to do the work and get her back on the water.

The trailer is adjustable and will fit many different sizes and shapes of sailboats.
I will not sell the trailer without the boat.
