Description: |
It has a good trailer and has been well taken care of.
Has a newer 6 hp Evinrude. My guess is around than 100 hours. One 3 gallon tank would usually last me a whole season...VERY fuel efficient. I would always run the carb dry after using it and would drain the float bowl when not using it for a period of time and over the winter. Engine was always winterized.
The boat has handled all conditions the Barnegat Bay has thrown at it.
The hull has been waxed prior to splashing her each season. There are no leaks.
Only draws 18 inches with the rudder up, which lets you nose into the beach.
It is also the fastest cruising boat of similar size boats that I have encountered in the bay (faster than a Rhodes 22, MacGregor 22, and Catalina 22.
My family and I have enjoyed the last 6 years with her camping out for overnights and daysailing with friends.
I added a bimini for sun protection that is easy to put on and take off or fold down.
The standing rigging is only 3 years old, except for forestay.
The mainsheet is very new.
When I first purchased her, I milled new teak toe rails that are chunkier to offer more protection and longer life than the originals.
The portapotti is fresh, we have only ever used a bag placed inside and disposed of after the trip.
The bow pulpit has been rebedded the correct way (oversizenholes, fill with epoxy, bored holes into a conical shape to accept butyl tape) so you should never have to be concerned with leaking there.
I believe the boat spent all of its life prior to 2014 on freshwater.
Sails are much newer than original.
I made a gin pole for the boat that I would include with purchase.
Trailer bearings have been greased after each trip to the ramp. Bearing caps were also added.
If this interests you, please let me know and we will schedule a time for you to come look at her.
Let me know if you have any questions.
