| Description: |
There are only two Alamanda in the world. Wapiti, the second, is designed for Arctic navigation and
benefited from the experience gained while building the first (Wapiti #1). She was built in the
Navalu shipyard to Lloyds specification, The ship is solidly structured; its hull, stays, mast, boom,
and each important element of the boat is over specification! Rigged as a cutter, powered with a
Perkins 4108, Wapiti is equipped with two autopilots (Autohelm 7000, Raythéon 4000), and ARIES
self steering. Also included are, GPS, radar, SSB, Pactor modem for emails. The boat generates its
energy from four movable solar panels, a wind power generator (KISS), and one hydro generator
(Aquair 100). The set of sails includes main, foresail, staysail, stormsail and Spinnaker. The controls
for the foresail are lead back to the cockpit. The interior is spacious and particularly well finished
with iroko, ash and olive wood marquetry. Wapiti has large forward and aft double cabins, a
spacious galley and head, and the boat is very comfortable at sea or anchored.Wapiti is a bluewater
sailboat ready to go. |
