CYGNET is a 45 LOA John G. Alden Ketch, design #894B. Alden named this design The SEAGOER, a true classic cruiser. CYGNET was built in 1954 at Morse Boatbuilding in Thomaston, Maine. She was the second of only four vessels built from this design in the early 1950s and, as far as we know, the only one left in existence. CYGNET was originally contracted for construction on December 5th, 1953. Constructed of Philippine Mahogany on white oak frames and scheduled for delivery on May 1st, 1954. Among numerous upgrades, Cygnet had a complete repower in 2017 and new B & G instruments in 2023. All systems aboard were beautifully re-engineered by her previous owner, using top quality materials, & keeping things simple.
