37' Tayana Tayana 37

For sale: 1980 Tayana 37'. Boat is currently in Miami. All photos are from January 2026. I have owned the boat 8 years, and sailed it from Miami to Puerto Rico, Martinique, Grenada and back. I have gone cruising for 1-2 months in the Bahamas every year since returning to Miami, and plan to continue to do so until the boat is sold.

This boat is an able-bodied, fully operable project. Nothing about it is polished, but everything is cared for as dictated by need for effective use.

What makes this Tayana 37 special, upgraded:

*It has a newer, Yanmar 3GM30F engine, installed used in 2018 to replace the older/original Yanmar QM era model. The shaft and propeller were also replaced at that time. $$

*This boat has a keel-stepped mast, much more rugged than the normal deck stepped. This mast was newly installed in 2008, and the boom and standing rigging are new from that time too, upward from the deck turnbuckles. The work and installation was professionally done by Nance and Underwood in Ft. Lauderdale. $$$$

*The bowsprit was replaced in 2018. Square aluminium tube cored tightly with a single length of solid cedar. $

*All chainplates were replaced in 2018 $

*The steering is rack and pinion, very rugged and simple compared to the common pedestal/cable/pulley systems.

*High quality mast-steps make climbing to the top of the mast super easy/safe, and don't ever foul the rigging.

*Numerous self-tailing Barient winches make single handing much easier

*Aries windvane has never worked during my ownership, but all the parts are onboard

***I have Florida title to the boat, in my name, ready to sign over to buyer. The price is $20,000 firm, though I am open to upbidding. Serious inquiries only.
