US $ 28,000

A solid, sea-kindly, 125NM/day, world cruiser. After 13 years and 10,000 NM, its time for a new adventure with a new captain.

Refit ongoing. Price reflects work to be done.

----------------------------------------

Summary of refit projects, including common Tayana 37 issues adressed

Done: Fuel tanks (Al) 2015; Knees and chainplates (hardwood and SS) 2017-2020; Standing rigging 2020; Bowsprit (hardwood, one piece) 2020; Samson posts (teak) 2025; Chain locker partition reinforced (epoxy) 2025; Engine removed, serviced, painted, reinstalled with new engine mounts 2025; Water tank (1 of 2, SS) 2020; New Force-10, 4-burner stove 2023; Holding tank plumbing replaced with new fittings and standpipe 2025

To be done: Bed all deck hardware and portholes; upgrade electrical system/electronics; repair interior woodwork; replace all cushions; replace headliner; refinish cabin sole; replace floor in head; haulout and bottom job

Equipment:
Hull- Fiberglass, in good condition. Last haul-out 2020, Grenada. Topsides painted 2015 with AwlGrip Dark green, roll and tip method. Some scratches since, but paint is in good condition and still shines.
Deck- There were never teak decks so general core rot is not an issue, but you will find some wet core around the thru-deck fittings. Deck fittings need rebedding. Regardless, the deck is solid.
Rig- Cutter
Mast- 57 bridge clearance. Keel stepped. Removed, Sanded/painted, stepped 2020. New VHF antenna 2020, lightning deflector, radar reflector, Windex, Raymarine wind instruments.
Steering- Edson steering pedestal, replaced aluminum base with SS, and nice teak wine-glass shaped cover. Helm removed, stored onboard. I have preferred using the tiller and it works better with the windvane.
Standing Rigging- All new oversized 1x19 SS rigging 2020 and whiskers 2024, forestay 2012.
Running Rigging- New halyards 2017, sheets serviceable, extendable aluminum whisker pole.
Chainplates- All replaced. 3 new SS 2017, 4 new SS 2020.
Knees- 3 replaced, 3 original but still solid, and stern knee should be replaced or aft chainplate should be moved to the exterior of the hull.
Bowsprit- New 2020 made from one solid piece of something called Cobacolly (Guyanese hardwood).
Sails- 2 mains, 2 jibs (1 roller furling, 1 hank-on), 2 staysails, 1 riding/stormsail. One main and one staysail are ripped, but usable with a double reef.
Roller furling- Harken Cruising II on forestay, 2012.
Tanks- 2 water, 2 fuel, 2 propane (Water: 65G SS New 2020/38G SS; Fuel: 45G/20G, Al 2015, Range 400NM at 5kts). Original 15G holding tank serviced with hoses and fittings, including pickup standpipe, 2025.
Bilge pumps- 500GPH bilge pump with float at bottom of bilge, 2000GPH backup pump higher up. Manual gusher pump by the mast.
Engine- 2005 Yanmar 3JH4E, 39HP, 0.8GPH at max rated RPM, 2000 estimated hours, with waterlift muffler. Removed and serviced, painted, new strainer, raw water hoses, exhaust, and engine mounts, reinstalled 2025.
Ground Tackle- Plow and Bruce anchor with 120 chain. Manual windlass onboard, not installed.
Running gear- 3-bladed bronze prop and SS Shaft in good condition. Cutlass bearing 2015.
Autopilots- Raymarine Smartpilot; Monitor Windvane installed 2019.
Electrical- 2 Wet-cell group D batteries, 2019 and 2020. Original Tayana breaker panel, battery switch and isolator. 1500W 120v 60hz Heart Interface inverter/battery charger. Small separate inverter in Nav station. 200W solar.
Lights- Anchor, tri-color, spreader, side-lights/stern light, and cabin lights are all LED. Also a halogen deck light. Incandescent masthead light.
Bimini/Dodger- Made in 2013. Still good for shade, not anymore for liquid sunshine. Dodger cloudy.
Water Pump- Auto-shutoff pressure pump.
Stove- New 2023 4-burner SS Force10 with oven.
Refrigeration- Alder-Barbour Super Cold Machine. Compressor and evaporator good. Copper tubing has a leak on the low pressure side at the connection to the compressor manifold.
Water heater- 6G 110v heater, also heated through engine heat exchanger.
Cabin Heat exchanger- Uses hot engine coolant through a radiator with a fan behind it to warm the cabin.
Dickinson diesel heater- Never used. Never even tried. I love the tropics.
Navigation- Ritchie compass mounted on pedestal.
Electronics- All old, and could use a complete upgrade, but Navionics on a handheld device does the job. Furuno Radar, old but works. I-COM HF Radio.
