Description: |
Kattegat is a 40 foot Custom Pilothouse Cutter Sailboat built in 1992 by the DeKleer brothers in Richmond Canada. She provides space and comfort while at the dock or in a secluded anchorage or she can take you anywhere in the world with confidence, comfort and style.
Kattegat is a well maintained example of an ocean-going Pilothouse vessel with a Loyds of London certificate for her pro-build design and sturdiness. The generous water and fuel tanks (200 gallons of each) and generous sail area offer flexibility in offshore capability as a true-blue water cruiser. The Spectra Cape Horn Ventura watermaker will keep a steady supply of fresh water at sea with a rating of 8 gallons per hour.
Well Maintained: Comprehensive refit 2020-2025 with the goal of preparing Kattegat for ocean crossings or comfort in an anchorage
Reliable Off-grid Capacity: (2) 206 Ah SOK Lithium batteries fed by 3 panels with a total of 650 watts of solar input
Upgraded Systems: electrical monitoring systems such as propane sniffer,(2) bilge pump installs; new windlass with correctly sized electrical wiring, new fuel lines, new 375 watt solar panel and charge controllers and Sinewave inverter/controller; a new fridge with set up for DC & AC electrical supply and new copper tubing for the fridge & freezer with a new thermostat controller for the freezer.
Ease of Handling: the new in-mast furlering main sail and hydraulic boom vang make raising and reefing the main predicable and controllable from within the cockpit. The jib sail is furler controlled and lets the sail slide in and out with ease.
Ease of Navigation: Raymarine chart plotter, AIS, radar, iridium Go, new EPIRB, and new VhF radio all with their new antennas. The new autopilot brains and pump are designed for the length and weight of the boat in heavy weather conditions. |
