Description:
Sisu is a 1983 Canadian Sailcraft CS33, sailed and cruised exclusively on the Great Lakes since launch never in salt water. Over the past five years she has received $33,768 in documented investment, and her complete maintenance and upgrade history is publicly documented at SV Sisu website.

Recent major investments by year:

2025: 33 lb Vulcan primary anchor with new 235′ rode (5/16″ chain 5/8″ nylon); Maxwell RC8 electric windlass with bow remote; Kingston Stainless Steel Bruce EP bow roller; OGO composting head (black water tank removed); 12V refrigerator/freezer; DC-powered water heater; all-new opening cabin ports; new eisenglass for the full cockpit enclosure; new forestay; lazy jacks and jacklines; LED exterior/nav lights; new fuel tank. Bottom sanded and re-painted with two coats of Vivid (the previous Vivid application lasted five seasons).
2023: Full electrical replacement KiloVault 300 Ah Lithium-Ion house, 100 Ah AGM starter, Balmar 100 A alternator with programmable voltage regulator, Sterling 50 A shore charger, 1,000 W inverter, BluSea ACR, Victron Smart Shunt with Bluetooth; Raymarine Evolution EV-100 wheel-pilot autopilot with P70 head and Rudder Reference; cabin upholstery replaced; new bilge pump.
2022: Full electronics suite Raymarine Axiom 7 chartplotter on swivelling NavPod; B&G V60 VHF with DSC, AIS receiver, wireless handset, and cockpit speakers that toggle between VHF and entertainment; Raymarine i60 wind display with masthead sensor; new depth/speed/temp transducer; all on SeaTalk. Engine fuel system rebuilt from tank through injectors with all gaskets, all hoses (including muffler) replaced, new Racor, new water pump. New stuffing box. Eight new Lewmar clutches with deck organizers and traveller tunnels. All running rigging replaced. LED steaming/deck light.
2020: Teak and holly cabin sole refinished undersides epoxy, upper varnish. New engine gauges. Interior LEDs.
2009: Bottom stripped and re-painted with three layers of new West System epoxy barrier coat no blisters found.

Sail inventory: Fully-battened loose-footed main with two reef points. 130% genoa on roller furler. Storm jib. Symmetric spinnaker with pole, four forward halyards, and pole lift all included. Hydraulic backstay.
Engine: Bukh DV20 (20 hp diesel) originally specified for ocean-going life boats. Documented 0.52 GPH at 5.2 knots motoring.
Set up for short-handed sailing: All lines led aft, swivel-mount chartplotter, modern Lewmar clutches (2022), lazy jacks (2025), hydraulic backstay, autopilot with Wi-Fi remote. In 2025 alone, the current owner sailed her roughly 1,000 nautical miles single-handed across Lakes Michigan and Huron.
Living aboard: Separate V-berth and head. Main cabin with settees, folding table, and starboard settee that converts to a queen. Refinished teak-and-holly sole. New 2023 upholstery. New 2025 opening cabin ports. New 2025 12V refrigerator/freezer. New 2025 DC water heater. New 2025 OGO composting head black water tank removed. LED lighting (white/red switchable). DC-powered hand shower.
Bottom condition: 2009 strip and three-layer West System epoxy barrier coat. No blisters at the time. Maintained on Vivid antifouling last application held five seasons. Sanded and re-coated spring 2025 with two new coats and burnish.
