Description: |
Buccaneer is a cutter rig (three sails) in a unique design by noted naval architect Bruce King. This was Ericson's bi-centennial boat, one of only around 66 built, the best the company could produce and designed to be something special. This is the rare example of a classic boat in excellent condition, maintained by a loving owner.
While the boat itself is fiberglass, there is so much woodwork it appears to be beautifully made of wood. Exterior woodwork is teak; the cabin is all hand laid mahogany. The deck is flat, big enough to accommodate many passengers. The cockpit, with added bimini top and newer seat cushions, compares favorably in comfort and space to a much larger yacht.
In addition to its beauty, this boat is constructed like a tank and weighs almost 10 tons. It was designed for long distance ocean travel in all weather conditions. Buccaneer has had only 3 owners. For 18 years It has been lovingly maintained by the current owner, who has now reached the age when old sailors transition to trawlers. |
