One of the rare Sea Sprite 23's with an inboard diesel. The engine is the original Yanmar 1GM (6.5 hp). I have refurbished the engine (the head was bad) and now it runs well. I also acquired a good twin-axle trailer that the boat is on in my shed. The boat is white with black bottom.

When I acquired the boat several years ago it leaked rainwater along the side decks. I have now removed the toe rails and the wood at both ends of the boat; chipped off the old failed caulking underneath; replaced the old caulk with butyl rubber; stripped the old varnish off that wood; and rebedded and reinstalled the wood. I did not re-bung the screw holes, and instead just covered the screw heads with butyl rubber. Except maybe for a couple of stray drips, the deck is now watertight.

The boat still needs work --- a non-exhaustive list includes putting the engine and fuel tank back in the boat; replacing hoses, controls, and wires to the engine; reinstalling alternator if desired; reconnecting and aligning the engine to the shaft; restoring and reinstalling other wood; rewiring the boat as desired; cleaning the sails as desired; replacing the battery, bilge pump, lights, and any desired instruments; checking the standing and running rigging and furler, and replacing as needed; painting the bottom; adding ground tackle and dock lines; etc. etc.

I have too many projects and want to find Amanda a good home with someone who is willing and able to finish restoring her. No sale to anyone who has not come to see the boat. Email if interested:
