Description: |
Hello! I am putting out some feelers for selling my sailboat. I am probably going to go abroad for grad school so taking it with me is not really an option with the timeline and then in combination with that I am seeing if I want to store it during that time, might be better off selling to the right person.
East wind is a great boat, I havent had it for too long, but it is an extremely stable, full keel cutter that can go anywhere. Multiple sister ships have circumnavigated and this one has at least sailed from the east coast. To my knowledge I am the third or fourth owner.
The hull is thick fiberglass, high gunwales on the deck, ocean going hatches, and sturdy rigging. Definitely fits the bill of overbuilt like they did during this era.
Some details on the boat, please feel free to ask specific details if you need me to elaborate.
I have a recent survey from the beginning of the year, both general and mechanical, that I can share with you, you are free to get your own if youd prefer, but you can have it for insurance or marina purposes and save yourself the headache if youd like.
General: -LOD: 34 -LOA: 39 -LWL: 27.6 -Beam: 10.5 -Disp: 18,000lbs -Draft: 5.17 -Tiller steering
Overall its a good condition boat, not perfect, but solid and really sails well.
Let me know if you want to come look. I am doing a few things on it to get it ready for a potential sale or storage, including repainting the deck, let me know if youd like any specific photos.
Boat is in San Mateo
Asking $20k, open to reasonable offers after youve come to look at it, if you know about these you know theyre incredibly capable, cousins to boats like westsails, HCs or tayanas. |
Equipment: |
Rigging: -Stainless steel rigging, was inspected on survey -External stainless chain plates -Bowsprit
Sails: -Mainsail in good condition -Furling jib also in good condition -Staysail in good condition -Comes with full set of spares for each sail, I think 2 mains but I would have to double check, might be foresails
Mechanical: -Repowered with a 2006 Beta Marine 28 diesel, they have really excellent support, I have done some work on the engine and that has made it much easier -New raw water pump installed last month -Full service of oil change, oil filter, air filter, fuel system filters, and zinc coolant anode replaced 3 months ago
Electrical: -Had an inspection done, replaced the shore power inlet and wiring back in February -Garmin GPS/Chart plotter/AIS -Depth sounder and knot meter -VHF Radio -Bluetooth sound system -Radar (should be fiddled with, not sure how -Raymarine autotiller -Backup Navco autotiller -2 Marine batteries
Misc: -Head works but has a broken knob, havent really used it but the previous owner said there werent major problems when they moved in from Monterey to SF before I bought it -Bottom paint in fair condition, will need to be done at some point -Interior is clean, cushions in the main salon are new, V berth cushions are older but still nice, just a bit discolored, I washed everything not too long ago. -Galley has a propane stove/oven unit -Fridge works I believe I just dont tend to use it, havent really run it long enough to fully cool the box down to working temp -Canvas needs a zipper repaired, it has a spare cover for main and staysail but they have a few holes in them -Bimini frame and top are present, but havent gotten them to work right yet -Dodger has a rip and needs new snaps, but the frame is solid |
