Description:
The La Prairie Zef is a small, lightweight French centerboard dinghy designed by Joubert-Nivelt (Michel Nivelt/Lucien Gourmez) and built by La Prairie in France. It was first produced in 1960 and became one of the most popular entry-level sailboats in France.

The Zefs fractional sloop rigging, combined with its 12-foot length and lightweight 200‑lb displacement, gives it nimble, responsive handling and makes it popular for both recreational sailing and training.

Around 1970, UW-LaCrosse had purchased apprx half-dozen of these similar boats. Those were used for student training until the program was abandoned. While this specific Zef was not a part of that fleet, this stat highlights the versatility and trainability of the Zef boats.

My specific Zef is in perfect condition, with all original sales in excellent shape. A custom weather cover - crafted by Flynn's Customs (LaCrosse, WI) was added two years ago. A matching trailer is also included.

This is an exceptionally clean, well-maintained boat that is ready to hit the water.
