The 1977 Yamaha Scampi 30 Galaide is a classic fiberglass masthead sloop designed by Peter Norlin and built by Yamaha in Japan. It comfortably accommodates up to five people with a double V-berth in the forward cabin, two settees in the main saloon, and a single quarter berth in the aft cabin on the port side. The galley is located to Starboard, just forward of the companionway & includes a three-burner stove and sink. A navigation station is positioned opposite the galley on the port side, while the head is located aft of the main cabin on the starboard side. The vessel is powered by a Japanese Yanmar diesel engine located under the forward V-berth, which is currently inoperative. It has a 13-gallon fuel tank and a 30-gallon freshwater tank. Equipped with a deck-stepped mast, fin keel, and skeg-mounted rudder, the Scampi 30 is widely recognized as a successful Half Ton racer but can also offer comfortable coastal cruising camping style. Its efficient hull design delivers excellent upwind performance, particularly in light winds. A distinctive hard chine at midships enhances stability in stronger conditions by engaging the water as the boat heels, reducing roll and maintaining effective rudder control. Designed with performance in mind, this Scampi 30 is a competitive and capable racing yacht for the entry level sailor on a budget.
