Description: |
A serious offshore cruising boat with a proven pedigree. Tulum III is a 1979 Kelly Peterson 44 designed by Doug Petersona capable center-cockpit cutter built for offshore passagemaking and comfortable long-term cruising.
The owner recently sailed Tulum III more than 800 nautical miles from Panama to Honduras and the boat is now ready for her next adventure.
With her solid construction, traditional sailing characteristics, spacious liveaboard interior, and substantial list of upgrades, Tulum III offers a capable platform for extended cruising The forward head features a Natures Head composting toilet, eliminating traditional toilet hoses and associated odors. It also includes a Paloma on-demand hot-water heater and shower sump pump. Marelon seacocks remain in place for the wet head.
The aft head is plumbed with Marelon seacocks. The toilet has been removed, creating additional storage space.
The main saloon features a convertible dinette and a long settee that pulls out to create a pilot berth.
The raised V-berth provides excellent storage underneath, including custom cutouts for three SCUBA tanks, plus a large starboard storage locker and additional drawers and lockers throughout.
The aft cabin has a true owners stateroom feel, with a king-sized berth, a large double-sided closet with shelving, drawers and lockers to port, and custom cabinetry housing a Pfaff heavy-duty sewing machine and additional shelves. A beautifully etched full-length mirror adorns the inside of the head door |
