Formerly the "Peapod," purchased out of Florida circa 1998, kept at Pt. Roberts Marina (WA) until 2023 when it was brought back to Vancouver, Canada after several years of disuse - Covid made the boat unaccessible for and extended period and it fell into disrepair.
The good: the latest inspection (done on the hard April 26, 2024) reported that the boat is in "good" condition, with a fair market value of $94k (CAD) and replacement value of $445k. The decks and hull are in good condition, from the report the: "hull was in good condition with no signs of any delamination, separation or poor workmanship. The hull is strong and in good condition." Since the inspection, additional work has been completed eg. replacement of lights and removal of deteriorated hoses, replacement/re-sealing of seals around portholes and hatches to prevent water ingress. The boat is clean and dry, with interior cushions and fittings in excellent condition. The electrical system and equipment are working and in good repair. The batteries are new. The rigging is satisfactory.
HOWEVER
The bad/ugly: the navigation equipment wants updating. The furling lines inside the mast need to be replaced. The dodger (canvas) is deteriorated. The generator does not work.. Wood panelling in aft cabin needs to be replaced due to water damage. The engine (38 hp Original 1994 Universal diesel) needs replacement as it has now seized.
As such the boat is being sold as/is where is (on the hard at Lynnwood Marina, North Vancouver BC) at a greatly reduced price! |
