Rare 1982 Victoria-built Frances 26, designed by Chuck Paine. Mystique is a classic double-ended pocket cruiser with a solid fiberglass hull, encapsulated lead keel, shallow 310 draft, keel-stepped mast and transom-hung rudder.
She is actively sailed on Biscayne Bay and has received substantial upgrades over the last year, making her turn-key for winter cruising in South Florida and the Bahamas.
Major 2025 upgrades include all-new standing rigging professionally installed, em-trak B954 AIS transceiver with Wi-Fi, rebuilt Blue Sea Systems electrical panel, new AGM battery, new self-tailing Lewmar jib winches, custom mainsail stack pack, new cockpit cushions, new tiller with autopilot bracket, new Jabsco manual head and new 20-gallon freshwater bladder.
Bottom paint and anodes were completed February 2025 and the bottom is cleaned monthly.
Powered by the original Yanmar 1GM diesel. The engine starts immediately, runs cleanly without smoke and receives annual oil/filter changes and cooling-system flushes. Prior owner replaced the water pump, motor head/gaskets, propeller shaft and cutlass bearing.
Five sails included: mainsail, club-foot jib, 110% high-cut jib, 140% genoa and asymmetrical spinnaker with sock.
Decks are in excellent condition. Topsides are presentable and could be further improved with a thorough polish/wax or eventually paint.
The Frances 26 has earned an exceptional reputation as a capable small cruising boat. Chuck Paine designed the original Frances as his own small cruising yacht, and examples of the design have completed serious offshore passages.
Mystique is currently on an accessible mooring in Miami and available to show to serious buyers. |
