30' Beneteau First 305

Illusion is the perfect sailboat for cruising the Salish Sea, balancing racing capabilities and cruising comfort. We bought her in October 2020 - she was our first boat, and we made many great memories during our six years of ownership. From numerous day trips and BBQs in the Puget Sound, to regularly participating in the Seattle Downtown Sailing Series, to multi-day cruises in the San Juan Island with its many beautiful anchorages and marinas. We hope that our beloved first sailboat will find new owners that will enjoy her as much as we did!
We have been taking great care of her over the years, detailed maintenance records can be shared upon request.

Standard Beneteau First 305 interior layout, which provides cruising accommodations for up to six people. The forward cabin contains the V-berth that can sleep a couple. The main cabin features a settee to starboard with an L-shaped settee to port (each settee can serve as a single sleeping berth). A centerline mounted folding table provides space for convenient dining and socializing. Theres a built-in 5-bottle wine storage in the center console of the folding table as well as a 3-bottle wine storage in the cabinet under the galley (you can tell the boat was designed by the French).

Aft to starboard is a sit-down navigator's station complete with table and chart storage areas, where there is also the GPS and VHF as well as the electrical switch panels. Across from the nav station, on port is the galley. The aft cabin is on port and features a double-berth. The head is aft on starboard.

Five fixed ports, four opening ports, and a foredeck hatch provide excellent light and ventilation.

Illusions current slip in Elliot Bay marine can be transferred to the new owner.

Illusion comes with a brand-new inflatable dingy with an outboard motor (bought in 2026, original price 2500 USD).

Illusion features a Volvo diesel inboard, and cruising conveniences like wheel steering, attachable auto-pilot, self-tailing winches, roller furling for the jib, and a Dutchman flaking system for the main sail. Lines/halyards lead aft to the cockpit making it easy for short-handed sailing. We have been taking great care of her over the years, see list of maintenance and repairs
