OVERVIEW Pourquoi Pas is a gaff-rigged schooner designed for offshore sailing and extended voyages. With a displacement of approximately 12 tonnes, a planing hull and twin rudders, she offers good sailing performance while remaining well balanced and comfortable at the helm. The boat is particularly effective to windward thanks to her 2.80 m draft, and is very comfortable sailing downwind. In favourable conditions, she can achieve an average of around 200 nautical miles in 24 hours. The engine can be switched off from approximately 67 knots of wind, depending on sailing conditions. The design prioritises simplicity, accessibility and ease of maintenance. |
