Description: |
This is a pretty serious boat..
..With a pretty serious name..
"Silent Running"
Hull #252 of 500 built. Built by Pearson Yachts in Portsmouth, RI.
I have owned her for about 1 year. Previous owner was a serious racing guy and the boat reflects that. This boat participated in the Huron Double Handed race for about 8 straight years. It has all kinds of racing equipment / additional saftey equipment etc..
Everything on the boat works flawlessly. The boat has been very well cared for. Only selling because I am moving to New York in May.. If I don't get a decent offer I will likely sail the boat to New York. I personally sailed this boat ~400nm last summer (not including daysailing) and absolutely loved it. Very well made and well designed boat. When pointing it steers itself if sails are properly trimmed.
One other thing I'll say about this boat is that it handles rough weather and heavy seas better than any other similarly sized boat that I have ever sailed. It is also in incredible shape for a boat of its vintage, especially below the water line. Not one single blister or abnormality anywhere on hull. Top deck could use a buff & wax but nothing too serious.
This mighty pearson is currently on the hard at Kean's Marina in Detroit, MI, and viewable by appointment. Winter storage and spring launch (april 2015) fees have been paid in full. Asking price is somewhat flexible but don't try to lowball me.. I love this boat and want her to go to somebody who will really appreciate what they are getting. This is a very unique and well built vessel.
Recent survey available upon request. If you decide to purchase I can also deliver this boat to anywhere in the Great Lakes for small fee.
