These are Photos of ESPRIT DE MER IV A 1974 Contest 31' fin keel masthead sloop sailboat. currently berthed in Charleston, SC with easy access to the Atlantic. With much sadness we are putting her up for sale due to husband's health problems. she is sailed regularly, but she is a north Atlantic vessel and is happiest in deep waters, where we currently can not take her. Ergo our loss is your gain. This vessel's prior owner tuned the shrouds rebuilt the Universal engine, installed 30 amp shore power line and battery charger. she was originally built for the North Atlantic and anyone who is familiar with Contest vessels, know the Dutch builds them for simplicity and quality and durability. I love this boat but unfortunately Physically it is too much for me to keep just because. 1974 beautiful sleek lines. she is very responsive and quick and definitely handles the waves nicely for a medium sized sailboat. she has all new open cell cushions and sunbrella coverings for cockpit. The saloon cushions are closed cell but as of now 1/2 have been recovered in new Grey vinyl to insure a wet butt doesn't soak it's interior foam.2. just had the bottom last cleaned april, 2015 and she still is good but could use another bottom job if you insist on it this year, we are waiting until next year and at the same time repaint top sides as well. She will not last long we are already being swamped with calls to see her. She is coast guard registered vessel. simplicity...eliminating complicated systems. ie.. NO there is no waste tank under the v-berth. as long as you are somewhat healthy (unlike myself movement wise) and a decent sailor she can be easily single handed. Pretty much self tacking. Willing to trade for Harley or finance with a good down payment
