Description: |
JEANNEAU 43 DS SUN ODYSSEY WAS $198,900 - NOW $168,000!!!
You can sail this beautiful (like new) one-owner shoal draft boat single-handed. Engine has less that 320 hours.
The furling main sail and furling jib, along with the roof top electric winch, allow easy control of the sails from the safety of the cockpit while the autopilot keeps you on course. Even the asymmetrical (light wind) sail can be raised from the foredeck while the autopilot maintains the ships course.
The 56 hp diesel engine propels you at 7-7.5 knots-over-ground at a leisurely 2000 rpm. In 20 knot headwinds and seas of 2-4 feet, she loses less than 0.5 knot at 2000 rpm thanks to the variable pitch Autoprop. Under sail or higher rpm, speeds over ground approach 8.5 knots (@3400 rpm), 6 knots with spinnaker.
The autopilot maintains course while you work in and around the boat. The navigation /radar overlay system by Raytheon permits safe sailing any time of day or night and through heavy fog. You can easily avoid hidden shallows and water obstructions as well as circumvent approaching storms. Repeater electronics are below with a second VHS radio.
This is a very safe, comfortable and well performing boat. The two cabin layout with convertible dinette and aft cabin bulkhead insert allow four separate sleeping compartments if you are into racing. Its hull is designed for speed and, with proper antifouling, the boat can exceed the speeds listed above.
Indeed, this same model 43 DS won first in its class in the 2010 Newport to Bermuda Race, a five day open ocean sailing event! |
