I've owned this boat for the past two years, and have spent a lot of time with her. Pretty solid weekender, but, like every boat, it's not a finished product. Clean title for boat and trailer in hand, in my name. She is completely sailable.
Mast is great, I tried repainting it, paint started to rub off in places though. Started experimenting with a homemade mast gate since there wasn't anything there when I bought her, works but could use improvement.
Sails are in great condition. Previous owner had just gotten the Jib reconditioned, it's really nice. Main has lots of life in it still, have cover for it. I think there's an extra jib and possibly a genoa, both are pretty old, not sure I'd use them.
Motor is great, never had a problem with it. Just replaced the fitting for the fuel line to attach. When I got it, the motor had a makeshift cap for the oil reservoir, but it's never been a problem. It is an electric start, but it starts right up pulling.
Centerboard leaks, but whose doesn't. From what I could see, it looks like someone dropped the centerboard out once upon a time, and now water gets in around the pin. Not a problem on day trips, would keep on eye on the bilge for extended stays in the water. Water will eventually make it's way into the side lockers as well, unless you pump it out before then, not a huge deal.
Interior is a bit rough, I started in on it, never finished though. No cushions for either the side berths or the forward v berth, the ones that came with it were pretty moldy. Started converting some of the "cabinet" space into a built-in cooler. Boat didn't come with a clean water tank when I got her, and I never got one, so it's a no go on the sink. I peeled off all the vinyl from the side walls and was just going to paint them white. You can see the fiberglass weave, but it'll be nicer than that vinyl looked.
Sorry to sell her, but I'm moving and there won't be a place for her. |
