Airyella is a classic New England style sloop - has incredible character, is very distinctive, and is a pleasure to sail. She is perfect for anyone looking for a boat that will sail, and anchor overnight with 1-5 people, comfortably in the bay and the Keys and beyond, at a fantastic price. I am moving on to a larger boat, but want Airyella to have a good home; she is special to me!
She comes with new Sunbrella canvas, 4 sails including Genoa and storm jib, Magma grill, GPS/depth/compass, new portable head, hand shower in cockpit, pillows and more. Sails and rigging all in good shape. Portable automatic head. Comfortable Sunbrella canvas berths inside, beautiful wood throughout. Well-maintained overall and doesn't show her age. Due for bottom paint but has been cleaned by divers every 4-6 weeks and the new bottom paint will be included in the deal. No blisters reported. Full keel keeps her steady in all weather and high bow keeps down the spray. A great opportunity to have fun on the water with a traditional, stand out boat!
Her history: She was designed and built by CE Ryder Corp and Portsmouth Yacht Company in Bristol, RI. In approximately 2010 she was taken on a seies of trips to the Bahamas and back, ultimately to Fort Lauderdale where I bought her in 2012. I have sailed her about 2-4 times a month since I bought her, sailing solo and with friends, and she is kept gently in a slip in the water. The engine is a Westerbeke 30hp; original but still solid and runs well. In 2011 it was serviced completely. New filters were put in again in 2015 along with new oil. The access to the engine is great. She turns a 3 blade bronze prop and can hit 5 knots under power if required. The fresh water needs to be topped up after every few runs. Otherwise the engine has never failed on me and never overheated. Enough power to get her underway and then sails up! |
